I'm a long time participant (2 decades) in this great little hip spot...I've given full scale concerts in the garden, hosted their long running open-mic, played the open mic and participated in just about everything that this hip-spot has offered at one time or another. It is ideal as a small music venue, acoustic or PA, it offers the atmosphere of a listening audience. and easy to get to... I have a warm place in my heart for it's history in town and have only the best of experiences that I've enjoyed there...it's so much more than a coffee/tea house and a great place to catch a Java as well ... a must see in Prov. This spot was/is a cute spot. It seems to be replaced by Blaze Smith Hill now, and their website seems to, but doesn't 100%, confirm this. Went twice this week and they weren't open either time, and hours for the coffee&tea house are removed from the door. The second time I looked inside more carefully, and it has been changed very much and is now a formal dining room. Went to their website to try to figure it out, saw that the homepage is now all about Blaze.

Lovely setting, equally lovely staff, and delightful food. My niece's baby shower was magical.

I can't rave enough about the quality of food and service at Brooklyn Coffee Tea & Guest House! My husband and I visited for brunch, and we were very impressed with the creative menu options. We ordered the blaze breakfast (with grits), crab benedict and coconut french toast. Everything was absolutely delicious, and we can't wait to go back.

Honestly a surprise delight! After driving by this place for nearly two years I went to brunch with a friend. The food was delicious with generous portions and the staff was sweet! The food did take a little to come out which was understandable since they seem a bit under staffed in the kitchen, just be patience and enjoy the space! By the time we left the space was filled up so I wasn’t able to take pictures of the interiors. I must say there’s nothing like this in Providence, you should check it out!!

I can't say enough good things about this place. My sons and I were looking for a casual, attractive, low-key place to hold an outdoor memorial celebration for my late husband. I'm so happy that I called the Brooklyn Coffee, Tea and Guesthouse! The friendliness and helpfulness of Chef Phyllis and her staff is so much appreciated. She gave me good advice on the menu and what options were available to us. On the day of the memorial, when we arrived, we found the the garden set up beautifully. Such a lovely place. We had opted to have an assortment of appetizers and some fruit & cheese and mezze platters. They were all delicious. The folks who joined us that day have commented on the excellence of the food, the service and the friendly and welcoming ambiance. We were about 70 people and the garden accommodated us easily, with plenty of room to move around and visit with each other. Thanks to Chef Phyllis and her wonderful staff the memorial celebration was just what we had hoped it would be -- an opportunity for friends and family to say goodbye to my husband in an informal, pleasant, and happy atmosphere. I happily recommend the Brooklyn Coffee, Tea & Guesthouse to anyone looking for a place to hold a comfortable, friendly gathering. Thanks Chef Phyllis and team!

VERY bad neighbourhood. Unsafe to park your car as well.Food is dry and overpriced. All white customers trying to prove they’re cool, by supporting a black business.Unprofessional management.Don’t book a room. Don’t eat here. Don’t deal with the bad neighbourhood.

I held my daughter's baby shower here at the end of January and couldn't possibly express how happy I was with the entire experience. All negotiation to rent took place with Kelly who from the very first conversation was warm and accommodating as we had just been notified that the rental space we originally booked had broke contract without notice. She made a special trip to the cafe within a couple hours of my call so that my daughter and I could view the place. Talk about "meant to be"!The venue sells itself with all of its light and charm but coupled with the expert hospitality of our hosts Kelly and Andriana, the ease in access and surprisingly affordable price I felt like I struck gold. Everyone who came to the event was asking me how I found this spot! In sharing the whole experience with others I have to joke about how intuitive Kelly was as I merely had to look up with a need for our set-up and/or "operations" and she called it before I even had to ask. My guests absolutely loved her and Andriana. They inconspicuously kept the place organized and clean and flowing, just present in the wings without ever making us feel managed or rushed. To Kelly and Andriana... thank you from the bottom of my heart! What started as a potential disaster (the cancel of first venue) turned out to be our great fortune! I would recommend to anyone and will definitely be a return customer.

Ever since I started working in Providence, I've been trying to find a spot where I can enjoy great food and coffee while being myself. I finally find that spot! Brooklyn Coffee & Tea House finally made me feel at home in Providence. Kelly was extremely understanding and helpful when it came to my dietary needs. The coffee was fresh brewed. The oatmeal was delicious. The ambience is comfortable and inviting. Artwork of different varieties are on the walls. And the music is at a comfortable level where you can work individually or engage in conversations with others. I'll be a regular customer from now on.
