Cuban and Norwegian Smoked Salmon sandwiches were incredible. Pecan pastry and coffee were amazing too. Nice Swedish atmosphere and comfortable seating. Super friendly staff as well.

Cafe Choklad's takeout experience delivered on all fronts. The ambiance I sensed while picking up my order was cozy and inviting. The decor exuded warmth with its rustic furniture and soft lighting. The process from placing my order to receiving it was seamless and swift, with the staff ensuring I had everything I needed for an enjoyable meal. Finally, the meal, the turkey and brie sandwich. The combination of tender turkey, creamy Brie, crisp lettuce served on cranberry pecan bread was delicious. It's safe to say that I'll be returning to try more of the menu in the near future!

Despite living in RI forever I had never been here, boy was missing out. This place hits all the marks food and coffee-wise. Small quaint atmosphere, take your parents here if they're visiting etc.

Eclectic and cozy place, with nice selection of coffee flavorings (I opted for pistachio) and a flavorful menu. The bread and pastries are amazing! ?

They are very kind here. This is the only Swedish style cafe I have found in Rhode Island, and I'm grateful I did. I love the friendly atmosphere and fresh food. The sandwiches and pastries are excellent!

I've always driven by this place but I decided to try it. Amazing hot chocolate and pastries. It is one of the best pastries I've ever eaten. Will 1000% come here

I would walk by in the past on the way to class and finally had a chance to check this off of my cafes in Providence to check out. Sadly, this was the first and last time I would come here. The place was pretty empty and I ordered a latte and a pastry. The pastry was very subpar and the latte was okay. The service however was what really sealed the deal. I sat outside at the tables by the street to enjoy the nice day. After skimming through the PVD magazine I noticed a guy (maybe mid-40s) who seemed upset because there were no seats outside available. About three minutes later, one of the workers asked me to vacate so that he could sit. They did not ask the other two tables who were seated before I got there which was upsetting. Mind you from the time on my receipt until leaving was 22 minutes. And the cherry on top? As I started walking off, the worker showed the aforementioned guy the seat. He had an espresso, I ordered about $16 worth of stuff. There were plenty of seats inside...Instead of coming here, I would recommend Coffee Exchange or Sydney's both close by and more inviting. I hope one day Cafe Choklad's service (and food) will be better

I stopped in for a quick bite with my nephew (I wanted to show him my alma mater, RISD). The place was busy, and the young lady who took our order either misunderstood, or forgot a few items. The older lady who rang me up gave us a café au lait and a sandwich (correct), but we didn't get the almond croissant or bottled water we also ordered. She looked at us as if we were confused. I mentioned the missing items, and she had to ring me up again. My nephew offered to pay for his bottled water. He handed over cash and said “keep the change,” to which this lady reacted with a grimace. All in all she seemed to be annoyed with us. We enjoyed our food outside at one of the tables, but I vowed never to come to this café again. I’m not one to make a big deal about food service, but coming back to Providence after some 30-odd years, I found things a bit rude — and I’m an old Queens boy. Maybe the counter ladies couldn't hear each other through their masks. In case the owner is interested, my visit was Sept. 14, around lunchtime.

Asked for an iced Cappuccino; was told there's no such thing. Settled for an iced latte. Asked for some simple syrup; was told they don't have any, just the flavored kind. The woman who served me was nasty and arrogant. Charged me $7.26 for the pleasure. Management should take a drive up to L'Artisan Cafe & Bakery on Wayland Sq...you might learn a thing, or 2.

I came to there on a sunny Thursday morning, ordered a bakery and an iced tea from a half nice lady and proceeded to do a bit of quiet work on my lap top on the out side tables. 15 to 20 minutes later the lady asked me to leave. No explanation, no please, no nothing. The bakery was not even good.In short bad food and rude staff

Came in for a quick lunch and enjoyed a very friendly, local vibe. Could tell it’s a lot of regular locals, great easy quick stop on the way to college tours up the hill.
