The Catfish was cooked perfect and the potato salad was delicious. I had the opportunity in meeting the cook David which did an amazing job on the food. The host Teddy greeted me very professionally at the door. Both waitress Razzie and waiter Mitchell provided me with above and beyond service. The DJ was jamming and the crowd that was in here is laid back and everyone enjoying the vibe and ambiance of this place. I will definitely be back here because eating Catfish around the country you learn the difference in Sway and Catfish and this is real Catfish.

I recently dined at Kin and it was a complete disaster. Firstly, the food was subpar, lacking in flavor and poorly cooked. Secondly, the service was atrocious; it took forever to get put in our orders and even longer for the food to arrive (mind you, we ordered 2 orders of cornbread as an appetizer and it took an hour and we only received 1 order). The drinks were weak and uninspired, adding insult to injury. To top it off, the manager was incredibly rude and unaccommodating when we voiced our concerns. And don't get me started on their outrageous policy of requiring a 20% tip for parties of five or more, which goes against industry standards. I would've had no problem tipping 20% if I received amazing service, but that was NOT the case. Overall, it was a nightmare of an experience, and I would strongly advise against ever dining there.

We dined February 24th and had a 5:30 reservation. We arrived at 5:25 and were greeted and sat at 5:30. That would be the last time we interacted with anyone. We had a show down the street at 7 pm so we weren't in a hurry but also didn't have all night. Unfortunately I didn't get to try the food and I was looking forward to some cocktails too. No one came over and acknowledged us, not even to bring water. We deliberately made eye contact with a few employees but they just walked by. We felt invisible. After 30 minutes we got up and left. It seemed as if no one even knew we were getting up and leaving even though employees saw us gathering our things. We walked out and unfortunately I did not get to try this place.

If I could, I would give this place a 3.5. The floor was sticky. The bathroom was kind of dirty, and the service was pretty slow for my liking. The honey garlic. Wings were amazingly delicious, but the collard greens with smoked turkey was too salty and not that good. I really wanted to have candy yams, but they ran out and didn’t tell us until right when our food was about to be served. It was supposed to be soul food, but my soul didn’t feel it. I would go back for the wings, but you can miss me with everything else.Parking: It was hard to find parking that night but luckily we eventually found something.Kid-friendliness: Definitely not kid friendly. I mean you could bring your child there but there’s no kids menu

Good vibes. Great food. Black woman owned. The shrimp and grits is to die for.

I want to support black owned, but the food at Kin is not giving, I learned how to cook from grandma or mama. Greens tasted like vinegar, Mac, mash no seasoning, yam were hard and to boot the service was questionable. Let's not forget the chicken still had its feathers. Never again..

Food is delicious and is definitely the closest to southern comfort food I will ever get.

It was my second time going there and I was excited. I ordered their catfish with mac n cheese and collard greens. when I say it was the worse mac n cheese i’ve ever had, and I was really shocked it tasted the way it did. my expectations were high and there was no way they could mess it up. it wasn’t cheesy at all, just oily and vinegary. I did take the mac n cheese home and sadly I didnt have cheese at that moment, so i threw it away… Catfish was OK, except the batter had NO flavor to it. We had their garlic parm wings and it was the best i’ve ever had. I ended up ordering take out for their wings another day. The server was super sweet, but man I will never order their mac n cheese or catfish. their chicken wings are the safest bet, but I am still willing to try more items, if the quality is any better. Also the owner is super sweet. There’s really no parking, your best bet is paying at the parking garage upstairs.

so my friends say that there could be more spice in the food and i'm sure they're right. i did still very much enjoy my plate and would come here again for some southern cuisine. i had greens, chicken, and mac. the server was very kind. the vibe is cute in the heart of downcity. i secretly carry around a bottle of hot sauce anyways ;)

The food and service has always been amazing, if somewhat SLOOOWWW. The seating in the front room is crazy uncomfortable. Not sure why they bought the most uncomfortable seating possible. No backs to the metal stools. Hope you don't like food AND comfort!

I got the Mac and cheese and it was awful, it was literally just pasta and some clumps of cheese and A LOT of oil. I took one bite and was so upset I even spent money here.

First time going yesterday. Fish was great and so were the sides. Only suggestion I have is to make sure you greet the guest and never assume they have been taken care of. Also, I didn't see any signs on how to obtain a menu if you're ordering for take out. I could be wrong on that though.

We were seated and it literally took them almost 2 hours to get everyone food out. When the food FINALLY came out it was literally cold to the touch. None of the food was served at once instead one person would get their food and 30 minutes later another person would. Crazy. Service Was okay and the menu was trash. The eggs were disgusting the chicken was gross and the cheesy grits were almost diabolical. ALSO please lower the music, it’s uncomfortably loud and nobody could hear each other. Great music choices but please…

Unfortunately I was unable to try the food or drinks at this place. I was very much looking forward to it based on the reviews. We had a 5:30 pm reservation on Saturday and arrived at 5:25. We were greeted and sat at 5:30. We sat for quite a while and no one came to our table, not even to greet us or bring water. We looked at the menu for quite sometime and then sat. We had a show at 7pm so we weren't in a hurry but also could not wait forever to get food and drinks. After not being greeted by anyone for 30 minutes, we walked out at 6pm. I don't even know that they left. During our wait we definitely made eye contact with some of the employees but no one ever came to serve us. I was disappointed as I really wanted to support a local business and try their food.
