This is a nice coffee shop right by PPAC. I had a pistachio muffin; it was rich and delicious. Plenty of espresso drinks, breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Friendly and helpful young staff. Recommended.

Now Playing: The Delta Variant! This is a narrow, airless little space that allows eat-in, has no distancing between tables or other capacity controls, no mask requirement, and 2 of the 4 people behind the counter are chin diapering! If you are not going to pull your mask up when preparing a customer's order, when are you?! And we wonder why RI is having a surge... I want to be able to say it's OK to grab a quick cup of coffee before the JWU lunch crowd rolls in, but easily the most mediocre coffee I've had.

I saw a hobo hanging on the polyethylene put up to obscure the cafe. The street was vacant like the new Downtown always is. Business is crumbling and costs keep going up. The hobo doesn't care, he was just reciting poetry ... An "Ode to the Impossible" or some made up crap by I.P. Daley. The poem went something like this ... (Entitled) "Wee Sammie Hurts No One" Just a little place, a wee place, Selling wee sammies all day long. Hurting no one, helping all With sammies and drinks and wee chips too! The PAC-man theater, ancient and rich, Put on a new face while its house is dark. Good for them! Bully, bully for PAC-man! Gobbling up the turf and getting all dolled. But what of sammies? Wee sammies and Wee chips too! Drinks for lunchtime people? Time's are tough, business is on its face ... And back too! Buy another heater and some plexi! For who? Who? Who? Said an owl so bored by Downtown he now lives in the PAC-man's scaffold. Who is going to go to Marque Cafe when PAC-man cloaks the wee sammie shop in drapes? Who? A protest soon broke out, soundtracked by the Owl As folks derided PAC-man for indifference. Free rent, back pay, damages and apologies Are what the Owl's friends asked from PPAC-man. Then, Owl said, "We'll never see any remorse for Making a "bad sitcheation" worse for wee sammies."

great sandwiches, service and people. You're best bet for lunch downtown! By far!

If you're looking for a place to go before a show at PPAC and you don't want to spend a lot of money but you want decent quality food then this is the place for you. They have a very limited soup salad sandwich menu with some pastries. Nothing fancy but basic good food. I had the chicken tortilla soup and it was very good and very tasty. The tuna was a little fishy but I had my choice of breads and they certainly put a lot of tuna into a 1/2 of sandwich. I like that you can get the soup and salad combination or the soup and sandwich combination. The service is kind of slow for a place that seems like it should really be banging out orders because the menu is so simple. It's very crowded in there so on a show night we get there at about 5:30. By 6 o'clock the place is full and there is no place to sit. A nice place to go grab a lunch and go and a nice place to grab dinner and go. And it's nice to not have to spend a fortune on a meal for a change

Cute little, no frills cafe. This is conveniently located next door to PPAC. As a group of five, we have been here a couple of times for a quick bite. They have a great 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup. Their prices are amazing. I ordered the special and a hot chocolate for 7.00. You can't beat the convenience of the location and prices. We always arrive an 1 1/2 hours before the play to guarantee we will get a table and a chance to catch up with everyone. Parking is difficult, but if your attending PPAC, I would recommend paying at a lot. Most of the cliental was attending the theater next door. They also had a nice selection of breakfast foods, a number of tea flavor selections and lots of coffee flavors, hot and cold. We will definitely return.

The most amazing staff I have ever met. The food is amazing and the prices are so so so affordable. The women working make my mornings 100 times better and have always made my order perfect. I recommend this place to everyone in Providence!!!

Love Cafe la France! This one is my favorite one, the location can be tricky for parking but the food is amazing. Love the cactus chili and the lasagna soup!! Jess, Savannah, Drea and the rest of the crew there are kind, fast and hard working!

I eat lunch here a few times a week and believe it is probably the best value in Providence. Most, if not all, sandwiches are under $7 and come with chips and a pickle. The Italian grinder is outstanding and packed with meats. A small Cesar salad (big enough for lunch) is $3.99. The large ice coffee is so big it would be banned in New York. But all of that pales in comparison to the customer service. All of the workers go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

I went in here for the first time today and was greeted by a SUPER friendly staff! It made the entire experience a joy. If I have any teensy thing to say, it's that they have styrofoam cups, which I don't love. so just know to bring a travel mug when you go in if that's something that bugs you!

EXCELLENT service every time I come in the morning. Cheaper than Starbucks and better quality. A hidden Providence Gem that needs to go viral.

I work downtown and come here about once a week. I love it because there are lots of options and the prices are very reasonable for what you get- but mostly I wanted to write this review for the women that work there! There will sometimes be a long line during lunch rush, and the staff slays at getting food out super quick while still always being friendly. They seem focused but never frazzled or frustrated, and even if they are cranking out food, they still take a moment to smile and say hello while they're passing you your order. Love them and can't recommend trying this place out enough- especially if you work downtown! It's a hidden gem!

Stopped in for lunch today: delicious sandwiches at an outstanding value with quick service and a relaxed atmosphere. And the fresh-squeezed lemonade was terrific.

Located by the front door of the theatre. I asked inside the PAC where to grab a quick bite. Wow this place is great! Had the Roast beef on a roll and me the Marquis Sammy. I had her toast the rolls. Wow that did the trick. I’m sure it’s here for the business crowd but it worked for us today! We hungry drivers bringing in the show today and tomorrow. Great iced tea and coffee. Looks like they have pastries too! Although their hrs are wrong.. OPEN till 4!! I love the way they have all the broadway posters inside !
