We have dined at New Rivers many times and have typically found our experiences there to be very good. Recently, we had a dinner party of 6 with their new winter menu and were very disappointed. Two of us had the winter seafood stew...when the dish arrived we thought there was a mistake as it literally had 1 fried oyster, 1 calamari ring, a smoked mussel, a single scallop, a strip of bacon and 1/2 roasted potato in a light cream sauce. This was not a stew...while we are aligned with smaller portions this was off the charts and should have been an appetizer at best. We brought it to the attention of our server who said she would inform the kitchen...a few minutes later the hostess arrived and we provided our feedback on the extremely small portion as this was a new item. She came back in 5 minutes with a small plate of calamari rings for the two of us who ordered the winter seafood stew to share...an inadequate token response at best for an establishment like New Rivers. The kitchen and management response needs adjustment and a better response for customers when they are trying new dishes on the menu-they can and should do better

We went for dinner for a weeknight in early September. Reservations were available on short notice and missed the college parent crowds. First time here after hearing about it for a number of years.
We shared a couple of appetizers and really enjoyed the cheese/charcuterie board and calamari. Calamari was crispy and sauces were delicate. Cheese board was also delicious and we liked that we could mix and match. Not many places offer pate, so we enjoyed having that as an option.
The gnudi dish was the best of the evening. They’re something between a small dumpling and gnocchi, and were so incredibly tender! Sauce was very delicious and we highly recommend trying this dish.
Entrees were okay, but not amazing. They’re known for their burger but I found it lackluster. Saddest part was the French fries were soft and tasteless. Burger meat was drier than it should be; likely too much fat rendered off during cooking. Bun had no integrity and didn’t hold up to the burger.
Pork loin was good, but serving size was extremely small for an entree. There were only 3 slices of pork on the dish.
Desserts were simple and well-executed, but not a highlight.
Atmosphere can be very nice if not too loud. Great place for a date, grabbing light fare, or having a drink at the bar.

It seems they make a new menu daily; ours had the day we dined written on it. So I’m not sure if I’m able to exactly recommend anything specific but I loved the NY Strip Steak on 9/19. It was done perfectly. I was a huge fan. Highly recommend.
I did expect the potatoes with it to be more crispy and the sauce to be more like au jus from the menu description but they were still really good!
It was a long wait on even a Thursday so it’s highly recommended to plan in advance and make reservations. It’s like the food that north used to serve and that was one of my favorite restaurants.
We ordered a charcuterie as well and I didn’t love it but that was my fault because I literally chose what I wanted in it. Overall, I still had a fantastic dinner and would try other things next time!
Parking: We did have to park far from the restaurant and walk a good 5 minutes in but there are paid lots closer if you prefer

The food was delicious and very fresh. We had a good size group and our waitress was sure to check in with us consistently and she was very pleasant. The restaurant decor is nice.

Absolutely life changing meal. We split the corn fritters, rolls, and a charcuterie board, as well as the gnudi. Finished with the sweet corn & blueberry ice creams for desert. Everyone was incredibly kind and so attentive throughout our meal, and the food was out of this world. We came down from Boston and I’m willing to make that trip again just to come to dinner here!
Vegetarian options: Corn fritters, gnudi, rolls, cheese charcuterie options, and ice cream were all vegetarian

A limited but excellent menu. Reasonable prices for an urban center. Parking is not offered but available at a price nearby.

We came here for restaurant week to have a complete dinner experience and this place didn't disappoint. Everything is fresh and delicious. Not huge portions so if you're looking for leftovers this won't be the place for you. They give you just enough. It's pricey for what you get but worth it. The best pot de creme I've ever had that finished off my experience.

We aren’t often in this area for dinner but so glad we stopped. We arrived early for our reservation and were able to sit at the bar for a drink. The hospitality was just terrific. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We loved the beer list, fun and different. Food was amazing. I had the stuffed zucchini blossoms and the soft shell crab. While I didn’t care for the biscuit they were on, the coating and coleslaw were so light and wonderful. I don’t usually manage an appetizer and main but the portions were perfectly sized and I managed both very happily.
The vibe was casual but upscale. We would definitely come again and highly recommend it.

My wife had the fried oysters and the scallops. I had shrimp cocktail and the best 1/2 roasted chicken ever. We also had the fantastic rolls. The desserts were lemon curd tart which was amazing and I had the sticky toffee pudding. Though not a dessert lover I demolished my dessert. Looking forward to next visit and our server Ryan.
Parking: Paid $10 for parking next to the restaurant. Was very happy with the rate and especially location.
