What do I spy behind the (not proverbial) heavy velvet curtain... Speakeasy vibes 90s hip hop Intimate alcove seating, Chocolate coffered ceiling, c shaped bar, vintage hand painted tropical murals adorn the walls. The two mixologists conjured bespoke cocktails with adeptness. This little gem packs out after shows.

Great cocktails on a rotating menu. Excellent bar service and atmosphere. A great nightlife stop when you're in the downtown area and with a small group or on a date.

Nice place with a nice selection however the Laphroaig 10year they served was cut with some other cheaper scotch. Should have known better considering the price was only $15 a pour. I don’t mind paying for the real thing but aside from that great selection of local brands and neich products.

Swanky yet unassuming, the Dean Bar is the perfect embrace after checking in at the adjoining hotel. We stopped in after doing such for a quick cocktail to get our night started. A quiet reprieve from the rowdy karaoke room down the hall, the bar is decked out in elegant drapes and furnishings that match the well-curated menu. We both went light, with a tropical caipirinha for her and some sort of spritz for me. A low-key, hideaway spot for a nice drink, the Dean Bar delivers.

Was looking for someplace to sit and chill. Found. It's not big. It's not flashy. The music is chill. The wine list is stuff you never heard of. I drank Finnish Rye whiskey. She drank mocktails. It was dope.I'm going back home to make a speakeasy like this.

We grabbed a cocktail here before heading out to dinner. The space had a variety of seating options for different groups. They had a drink menu and also had a QR code that you could scan to bring up some of their previously featured cocktails. The cocktails were too sweet for us.

Nice rooms and very comfortable bed. Location is great. Near a lot of bars and restaurants etc. Would definitely go again. Real comfy and cute room. I don’t like the elevators. Very hard to open and close the doors once you get out of elevator. That’s why I had the guy do all that lol. It was too much of a struggle especially being in a dress and heels. A/C is really important to me and it worked very well. Decent space and room. Not too fancy but nice and comfortable to stay overnight or for a wkn.

I went to Providence on a work trip, and this hotel was the most reasonably priced at the time. After looking over the pictures and talking to a friend, I decided to book it because it was in my company’s budget. The fact that the A/C unit wasn’t properly working either of the 3 nights I stayed overshadowed anything good. I wasn’t given a potential fix time, but was advised to just open the windows prefaced with a soft apology. I will not book this place again.

I found this hotel online when looking for something close to the RICC. The block of rooms for the convention at the Omni were sold out, but rooms were available at the Dean. I mistakenly booked the Kin room vs a King room... That's on me. Oh well, I only needed one bed, but didn't plan on getting a bunk bed! Who offers bunk beds anymore?!? One old-timey style lift elevator was available for everyone to use-- mainly used it to go up, used stairs to come down. I don't really get the red lights in the hallways-- made me worry about what was being hidden or if someone was hiding in the corner...was nervous getting to/from my room. TV worked well, as did the stand-up shower. Partying in the corner building and extremely loud music kept going until around 3:00am on Saturday morning...I had to get up at 5:30am. My sound machine was maxed out on the volume but it still wasn't enough to cover up the noise outside. Location was awesome, but I really didn't feel safe in the hallways. As a single female, I probably would not stay here again.

Chic, warm old timey decor. Stayed here for a wedding- pricier than Airbnb but honestly not worth the price difference in my opinion. Small room but fit my needs. Wish complimentary coffee was offered in the room to make it more of a value

The descriptors quirky, and eclectic have been used by Trip Advisors to describe the Dean Hotel. Certainly the red lights illuminating the halls are quirky; an Eliot Ness era flavor. The room was more than eclectic; it was full of contrasts: beautifully renovated tile bath, quality lighting fixtures well placed, then on the other side a dirty worn area rug on a wood floor that would have been beautiful refinished, and a bed of marginal comfort that was covered by a lumpy duvet. The room also could have benefitted by a thorough cleaning. Would I choose to stay at the Dean again: No.
