Service and food was excellent. Our waitress, Scout, kept her cool despite another patron yelling repeatedly YOOHOO to get her attention and being rude to other waitstaff. She remained super attentive and friendly to everyone.

UPDATE: Disgusting dried up. lobster barely a pound vs. 1.5 it was advertised as and one dried up scallop in seafood stuffing. One 1/2 of a baked potato (?) and brussel sprouts not quite cooked. YUCK. Step it up because we won't be back for a long time, if ever, and really wanted to love this place. And the tables were all dirty. The waitress is a sweetheart and attentive . But c'mon. Plenty of other places to go.Great food choices if you feel like something healthier. Drinks were great. Hostess and bartenders were friendly with a smile. Will be back.

Captain Jack’s has changed over the years. We arrived to find only a few cars in the parking lot. The newer Matunuck Oyster Bar restaurant down the road was very busy in comparison. Captain Jack’s main dining room was closed, they were serving in the Pub/Bar area. I only saw 2 employees. There was no view of the water, which we always used to enjoy fromThe main dining room. The clam chowder was bland, tasted like chopped potatoes, milk and couldn’t find any clams. Flavorless. The fish and chips were pretty good, but could taste the cooking oil and not the batter. No dessert or coffee suggested. It was a very ordinary experience, thankfully it was a gorgeous day to visit the Rhode Island shore. We had a good day despite the mediocre Captain Jack’s. Maybe it’s time to sell the restaurant to someone who will put in an effort. I remember vacationing in this area, the family would be lined up out the door.

Big signs everywhere saying they open at 11, website says they open at 11. I drive there and am told it’s 12. No information anywhere reflects this.

I last ate at Cap'n Jack's 40 years ago, as a high school graduation dinner. This weekend I attended our 40th reunion, and have been taking my wife to all my memorable spots. This was a fun weekend, and Cap'n Jack's did not disappoint.

Gosh, we've been coming here for so many years and have been satisfied. But the clam cakes were cold, the chowder was ehh, and I ordered the lobster stew and think I got lobster bisque. I should have questioned it, but at that point..... On the up side the bartender was pleasant and the beer was cold and a good

This is a funky little restaurant that would be entirely unnoticed if you were running out to matunick especially since it’s close to the Matthea oyster house. We always go here for another lobster dinner. This season is gorgeous. Lobster is perfect. I did forget to give us our corn the last time we did a takeout but that’s also it’s nice but this restaurant you can do lunch or dinner takeout also the prices are extremely reasonable best martinis anywhere

Seafood was very good. Went with large group; everyone was happy with food (except the vegetarian who ordered pizza and did not like it). Service was sketchy. Not a single glass, bottle, appetizer plate, or dinner plate was cleared until after we left.

The food and service here have gone hill over the years. I ordered the fish and chip special. The chowder was watery, and the fish was not good. The only thing that was good was the clam cakes. There were 10 of us, and it took 2 hours from the time we sat until we were done, and it wasn't that busy. I dont blame the waitress. My sister in laws sandwich had a hair in it. I will not be going back there. I have been going there for over 40 years.

Ate on the patio, which could have used a bit more shade. Shared crab cakes, calamari, and stuffies for appetizers. Had fish and chips for entree. Everything was cooked right with good ingredients. Everyone was satisfied with their entrees and the appetizers. Tables available on a late Sunday afternoon.
