The food was great. They followed my order instructions exactly as requested. My food was fresh and tasted great. Overall an amazing place for Tex-Mex and similar food items. I highly suggest trying their soft tacos.

I’ve been wanting to try the food at Cali’s for the longest since it’s close by but unfortunately was very disappointed. I ordered the birria tacos w/consomé, another order of birria tacos, and their homemade chicken quesadillas. The packaging of the food was very sloppy and could have been better packaged to avoid sogginess. The birria tacos came with a little cup of consomé that had a very bland taste. The chicken quesadilla literally had chicken only at the very tip of each slice. Inside of the quesadilla packaging was filled with pico de gallo and lettuce that made the quesadilla so soggy that it couldn’t even be consumed because of the lack of flavor. Paying almost $40 on food and was not expecting to be so disappointed when I’ve only heard good reviews.

This place is going downhill. There was barely any meat in the al pastor quesadilla I ordered. It used to be my favorite item at this location.

I specified no onions on my salad and received my food with double onions . I called and asked to have them remade and the lady was rude af gave me an attitude and blamed DoorDash . Worst service I have ever received and pretty much told me to punt . I spent $70 and threw my food in the trash this place is a joke one more bad review for this shady taco joint . Thanks for nothing

Whenever i go theres always a issue with the food, and is no where to the closing hour. Una plantilla sola, sin carne y sun casi queso, no meat barely any cheese yet the price keeps going up. Scamming people with those

Grabbed dinner here for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. Best birria tacos and the cruchy tacos hit the spot. We will definitely be back!

I ordered steak nachos it did not come with guacamole or onions barely to no steak bits. It had shredded cheese and lots sour cream lots of tomatoes. I had this order at other location it was made correctly, not as bad as this location also the person I spoke with ordering have bad attitude over the phone while I placed my order.

We ordered a steak burrito, 3 tacos (ground beef, steak, and al pastor) steak enchiladas, chips and guacamole. Super good for munchies. I'll start off with the enchiladas, they were super ooey and cheesy! Loaded with sour cream. Only complaints, 1. The steak was super tough. I definitely wish the steak was more tender 2. The sauce tasted like it was straight from a can, could've used a little more freshness and seasoning. Next the tacos, we ordered ground beef, steak, and al pastor. They all lacked seasonings. Slightly dry and tough, but still edible with extra hot sauce. Toppings were standard lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, cheese. Soft corn taco shell was my favorite part because they crisped the tortillas just right. The steak burrito was okay. Definitely on the dry side. Needed more sour cream, maybe some sort of hot sauce. The steak was tough and slightly dry. The rice and beans (refried) were pretty good. But once we loaded up on the hot sauce, ended up tasting pretty good. Chips were pretty good, a little on the thicker side or tortilla chips, but in a good way. Guacamole was under seasoned, it tasted like just straight mushed avocado maybe some salt and lime juice. We love avocado so we didn't mind and inhaled it. The prices were pretty cheap so I wasn't expecting much. But I wasn't disappointed either. I'd probably be back, just ask for extra sauce and sour cream and maybe for the steak to be cooked less.

Stopped here as part of the RI Food Fights TacoMania. This counter service, fast-food, neon graffiti decorated spot was not the type of place I'd usually stop. But, I'm glad the Food Fight brought us here! Food was fast, fresh & tasty ad brought me right back to similar taco shacks I love in southern California! I look forward to returning to try more.

Went here with the RI Food Fights Taco Mania. The service was super quick and the tacos were bursting with flavor. Atmosphere was very chill. Very well done, California Taco Shop.

Personally, this is the best Mexican food I’ve had in Rhode Island the food is top tier, the service is amazing they are all so nice, and the atmosphere is unreal for authentic Mexican food, it really gives you that California Taco vibe hence the name. I 10/10 recommend coming here for a lunch or a quick dinner I try to come here as much as possible this place is elite.

Never again. Came here for the RI Food fights. Waited 20 minutes while they favored the take out orders. Watched as at least two other parties ordered, waited and paid for take-out while we sat. Then the underwhelming tacos came. As my son said, the look like something I'd make after school.
