I’m a Rhode Islander and I had the worst clam cakes ever. The size of tennis balls, over cooked and with a heavy cake consistency. Not enough baking powder and too large. If you want the recipe, let me know. The white clam chowder was delicious!

Chelos was always my favorite stop but in the last year or so had either been good or road kill I don’t understand unless you are training cooks . The difference is 1 to 10 Im seriously considering leaving Chelos because I dont know what Imwalking into As of now the quality is 40% good and 60% beyond terrible Please fix the problem
Today, we scheduled a celebration of life to honor the life of my sister. Chelo's was her favorite place to eat. We came with 40 people prepared to speak about her life and share stories of remembrance. My daughter had booked the event explaining that this was a special moment and asked that we reserve the upper room as we have in the past. When it came time to be seated, they put us at a table on the raised floor set for 40. My daughter explained to the person seating us that this was not what we had reserved (the upper room) because we would be getting up to speak about her life and the arrangement wouldn’t not have been able to accommodate this. if you ever have to book the upper room, and they say that they will accommodate you make sure that you do so through the banquet facility, otherwise you will be as disappointed as we were. Needless to say we left and went to the Greenwood Inn who was more than willing to accommodate us given the circumstances.

I love Chelos restaurant. I have been enjoying their seafood chowder, tuna melt and French fries for over 40 years. They also have clam cakes, a true RI tradition and enjoyed everything. The rest of my party had fish and chips, steak sandwich, and big salads. Overall, the service, ambiance and quality of food were excellent.
