This is the first review I've ever written in my life. I am a Northeastern grad and was always a fan of Amelia's, but had heard good things about this place. I ordered a bowl from the Huntington Ave location for pick-up on a weekday night an hour in advance. I had a train to catch an hour after my scheduled pick-up time which was a ten minute walk away. Two hours seemed like enough time to pick up a bowl. It was a terribly stressful experience. I promise I am not exaggerating any of this. When I got there the entire restaurant was full and I couldn't get to the counter to ask about my order. There's no line for pick-up and no cashier working directly for pick-up orders, despite having online ordering plus Grubhub and Uber eats, and most of the people in the restaurant were waiting for online orders. There were people standing in groups waiting for one order, so I don't know why they couldn't have one person pick it up for all of them. They were passing their phones over my head and yelling to each other. It was so hot in the restaurant and it smelled of BO. There were also so many Uber eats/grubhub drivers that were shoving their way to the front of the restaurant and interrupting the cashiers. It took me 45 minutes to get to the front of the "line" (cluster of people yelling and shoving). I should have left five minutes after I got there and considered my order a sunk cost. The line to order food in-store was moving slowly but they got in and out faster than I did. When I got to the counter, there was receipts all over the back counter and the floor; clearly they were so backed up it would have been impossible to manage well. The numbers were in the 1000s and my order had been in the 500s. I tried to ask the cashier and was interrupted by a guy picking up for Uber eats, who just shoved his phone over the counter in the cashier's face and expected him to get the order. The guy checking out the orders for people in-store didn't speak English very well and couldn't explain to the Uber eats people that he couldn't get their food for them. This happened multiple times while I was trying to talk to the cashier. The other cashier, a middle-aged man, behind the counter was CRYING. Probably out of stress. I felt so bad. I asked about my bowl and showed him my receipt and thought that surely it had been sitting behind the counter for an hour and would be cold but at least I could leave. It hadn't even been started, despite there being 500+ orders after me. At that point I was just determined to get my food and already missed my train, so I waited another 30 minutes for my food and stood at the counter the whole time because I refused to get lost in the mob again. When I finally got my order, I got out of there as fast as possible. They got my order completely wrong. I will usually just suck it up but there was ingredients in it that I really didn't like. I don't like to waste food either, but at that point I was so angry that I just decided to go somewhere else for dinner. I went to Amelia's, which has been mostly empty since El Jefe's opened, and my burrito was fantastic and just as I remembered. I put my bowl in my bag and when I got home it had leaked all over my stuff. This was over a month ago and my bag still smells like onions, despite washing it multiple times. I tried eating my leftovers the following day for lunch and it wasn't very good. I thought it was just because it had things I didn't like, but then a week later my friends decided to order from there again and I ordered a burrito. My order was correct but super bland and the rice and shredded chicken were dry. Not worth what I spent on it. Honestly, it could have been the best burrito I'd ever had and I'd never go back. They need to have a better system. Delivery app orders, online orders, and in-store orders need to handled separately. There is absolutely no reason employees should be crying, even during a busy time, and I hope anybody who was rude to the man

AMAZING tacos! I ordered the birria tacos and 1 chorizo taco. I was surprised potatoes were in the chorizo taco but wow. The taco was amazing, my fav. The birria tacos had a bit of a kick for my liking but they tasted very good.

Ordered catering through them for a family together. Pickup was easy, and all utensils, serving supplies, and chafing dishes/fuel were included. Price was very reasonable and owner/employees were super nice. Multiple options to choose from; we went with the two tacos per person which came with three types of taco vessels (corn, flour, hard tortillas), 12 massive tubs of sides( of your choice), andtwo big containers of meat. We also got platter of rice, beans, and chips and queso and still working through the leftovers three days later. Food was phenomenal: meat was tender, good spice, and very bright and vibrant colors and flavors to everything. Guajillo salsa was one of the best options. Highly recommend this place; would definitely order from again.

I am ruined on tacos forever. El Jefe has the best hands down. Every bite is pure delight. I am so excited they are open for breakfast now. If you have not experienced their menu, you are really missing out.

Catering kitchen that puts the Mexican talents of its team to really good use. We stopped by and found they had Birria tacos, which have become hugely popular in my hometown. Yum! Keep cranking it out!

Just tried for the first time tonight and everything was delicious!! We ordered just a bunch of tacos, all different kinds to try them out. They were all so good but our favorites were the Cali Taco and carne asada! They were so flavorful! Their chips are also great!

First time eating here.We ordered 2 Cuban sandwiches and they made a off menu cheese quesadilla for my 4 year old. The Cuban sandwiches were phenomenal, honestly you have to travel to FL to find one as good and they xame with a mountain of perfectly cooked fries. My daughter's Quesadilla was cooked equally perfect, with a generous amount of cheese without being overkill. After our first impression we will 100% definitely be returning.
