Have been here a few times recently figuring different cooks maybe different experience. I was wrong. All 3 times were sub par. First time was dinner with family. Nobody enjoyed the food. 2 kids got tender meals. They charged me for a Tender Basket. instead. GF ordered a Tender Basket and she only got 3 tenders while my kids got 5 each. I ordered the Fish and Chips. First bite upset my stomach as it exploded with some greasy fatty tasting substance when i bit down. Other 2 times were breakfast. Ordered Eggs Benedict. A favorite of mine. Both times, raw English muffins, Hardboiled eggs instead of poached, Hollandaise sauce was lumpy and ham slice was cold. Potatoes left something to be desired. Coffee was weak also. Slightly flavored water at best. Overall feel of the place was outdated and seemed to be clinging on to the hope of one day being a staple like it once was. Will be trying the Awful Awful and ice cream at a later date. Hopefully there some sort of redemption there.

Very busy but I had a nice time with my grandsons...A bit short on staff, but wait staff hustled..so really ok service..Its the same there as when I was their ages..so it was like walking back down memory lane .but then with friends Debbie & Steven.: ) we didn't have to wait to long for the ice cream at all..

Went in tonight for a couple of Awful Awful’s to go, my son wanted a waffle, I knew it was a breakfast item but the Manager Kelly was so nice and had it made for me. Brooke was my server at the to go counter and she was very friendly and served me with a big smile :) all the servers that were there tonight were nice and friendly! Great place!

waitress crushed it with a late large party with a lot of different things being thrown at here! she was unbelievable GREAT! food was wonderful and the ice cream was awesome!! glad to see that a Rhode Island staple still kicks butt!!
A Rhode Island tradition of great food-that always delivers. A group of friends and I had gone out to eat here and we all had a great experience. The server was polite and attentive and the food was delicious. The pistachio ice cream and jimmies combo may be the best in the state.

Worst experience at Newport Creamery due to terrible rude waitress. 1st we were left standing at the door finally about 15 - 20 minutes we sat at empty booth. My friend said he thought she may retaliate, I said don't be ridiculous. Well I was wrong she left us waiting then took our drink order then we waited more finally she took our food order THEN more WAITING after about 45 minutes to an hr I went up to her and asked where our order was she looked at her order book and she never even put it in. That was last straw we asked what we owed for soda and another waitress said forget it. We left never to return what a terrible experience!

Stopped by here today, we wanted a quick meal before leaving town / heading to the airport. I'm a fan of Newport Creamery, having grown up partially on the East Coast, but my fiance had never been. The mozzarella sticks grilled cheese sounded too tempting to resist, so we split that and the Vermonster. The mozz one was pretty good but the Vermonster was just okay; I didn't taste any syrup as advertised. We also got two Awful Awfuls - his was choco-nut and mine was peanut butter. I liked both but his was better. We also got sweet potato fries and onion rings for sides - the rings were good, the fries needed salt or something. It was about $50 with tip for all of that which seemed pricey, but both entrees were like $13 (the sides were premium and were extra), and each Awful Awful was like $7.50 each too. I noticed a few people just eating ice cream and that's a good option for this restaurant as well, just going for dessert. Overall I'd come back here but I might try other entrees on the menu or just do dessert.

We now live in New Jersey. But my husband is from Dallas. I brought him here on his first trip to Rhode Island. He fell in love with the ice cream. Now every time we come to RI it is a must to come here. I have enjoyed it since childhood. Now my husband and children love it too.Kid-friendliness: The menu was accommodating for children too.
