Had lunch with my grandma today. Our waitress, Tayla, was phenomenal. She was quick and efficient and had a great personality. Now, I didn't get a meal per se, I got a few appetizers. Fries were good, crisp and hot. Baked potatoes were obviously frozen and I'd give them a 6 out of 10, and I had the mozzarella sticks which weren't the best. Sooooo much breading on it. My grandmother had baked stuffed shrimp and grapenut pudding for dessert and LOVED it. Overall, food was decent and I'd be back again!The only true complaint I have is I ordered antipasto for take home. It isn't your traditional antipasto and was disappointed when I received it.

Walked in at noon on a Saturday. No one in the dining room. We sat down. The waitress was efficient but not overly friendly. I had a Spinach Salad with Salmon. Some of the spinach had turned like the kitchen didn't wash it thoroughly. The salmon was a flat tail end, thin and dry, with no taste. My companion enjoyed her turkey club. I won't be back.

Classic local place that has sadly gone downhill. Breading on fish n chips was greasy and fell apart easily. NY sirloin was untrimmed and chewy. Mashed potatoes seemed dry as if they were reheated or cut with instant. Drinks were prepared improperly. Huge bummer because the atmosphere and service are outstanding. Will not be coming back.

First off it is no longer called "Cowesett Inn", its just "The Cowesett". Went here for a late lunch today with my wife, as we were in the area and this place used to be good. As soon as we walked in the place, you could tell there was something off about this place. The restaurant was empty for a Sunday afternoon. We were promptly seated, which was nice, but doesn't mean much with the restaurant being dead. The table we were seated at was dirty and spotty from whoever cleaned it last. The clear coat was peeling off the table in various locations. The wall that our table was slide up against had remnants of food all over the wall, it was disgusting. We should of left right then but we were starving, so we stayed and ordered. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. The appetizer took 25 minutes to come out, mind you, the place was empty. We had ordered mozzarella wedges as an appetizer. When they arrived they were about 1/2" thick of batter on a 1/4" piece if cheese, and the marinara was just tomato sauce from a can with some oregano in it, no salt. It was quite disappointing, as it is hard to mess up mozzarella sticks. We then waited another 30min for our entrees to arrive, but they never did. While waiting for the entrees I had to use the bathroom. The mens bathroom looks like it hadn't been cleaned in a week. The countertops were made of formica and peeling everywhere, and the urinal dividers were rusting out from years of urine and neglect. We left money on the table to cover the drink and appetizer and left. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in my life. This place is going or go under soon, the writing is on the wall.

Its been years since ive been here...it was pretty good back then but now it has gone to hell. The food is horrible everything seem frozen and low quality the restaurant was empty on valentines day now i know why. Will never return again. The staff are great but they suffer because of the shitty nursing home food...you need a real chef with creativity..20 bucks for 3 baked stuff shrimp..with plain breadcrumbs. Seemed frozen..good luck.

Second time ordering door dash from here. BOTH times forgot the sauce for the French dip. Had to drive there to get the dipping sauce and it was cold upon pickup. Clearly the sauce they forgot to give the DoorDash guy. Refused to make the French dip over, so that was cold too. If you are going to partner with DoorDash stand behind it and don’t tell the customer you can’t make it over because it was from DoorDash. Ridiculous.Won’t be giving them a third try.Never even apologized.Awful service. Go elsewhere!

My wife's fish and chips were good, no complaints there. My friend had beef stew and was pleased with the entree. His wife's fish was undercooked she did not eat it. She was offered something else to replace it. My eggplant parm was dry, and no offer of parmesan cheese was made. The drinks from the bar were good and reasonably priced.We requested a table in an area with less foot traffic and quiet, which was accomplished. The place was overall chilly and dark. The waiter was a 6 out of 10. I haven't been to this restaurant in years but remember it as much better than this. For the money you can do much better.
