This review is in reply to some of the, few, bad reviews- because they seem to have some consistent themes: the guy in the goofy hat and tourist vs. local, and cost… the guy in the hat does his job a masterfully- if you don’t like his attitude, think of him nostalgically like the grumpy woman that might have served you at a diner in the “good old days”- all the regulars that have gotten to know him find him endearing- that’s what they see when I’m there; as for who...read full review
I don't want to tell anyone about this place bc I want to keep it for myself. Their bagels are absolutely the way a bagel should be, bagel perfection. Maybe there is another bagel in the area that's acceptable but I haven't found it. Go there

There are countless cafes in south county but few actually provide GOOD COFFEE. Old Man Joe’s pulls a beautiful espresso shot or drip coffee. Last time I visited, we ordered cortado and a cold brew. Both were delicious and prepared with care. The barista was delightful and lots of pleasant small talk between patrons. The ambience is beautiful and clean. Always a pleasure every time we go.
