A really great track and now in excellent condition. Just love putting on those greens !!

Worst customer service I have ever seen. Owner of this course has had to shut down multiple courses of customer service problems. Alcoholism is a terrible disease and affects the quality of customer service.

Three roaming golfers from WV had a great experience on the Island West Golf Course on 1/22/2024. Course is in winter conditions but conditions are overall good. Sand traps were very well maintained. The Pro Shop Attendant and Cart Attendant were very kind and accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The way we are treated means the most to us and we give these 2 gentlemen the highest rating. Thank you.A local resident (Steve) played with us and kindly shared his wealth of helpful golf knowledge. It was like having a personal golf instructor and Steve knew what he was talking about and could hit the ball extremely well. There is nothing more we could have asked for or expected. It was a good day.RKK

Was delighted to learn that Island West had reopened as I planned for my annual HHI vacation in May of 2022. I first played IW in 1992, and nearly every year since. Course was in good shape last May. Love the layout and setting. Expecting it to continue its comeback. See y'all there in May of '23.

Great track. Very friendly people and course will challenge all parts of your game. You can tell they care about making the course better and better. Greens rolled nice.

Played course on October 7th, 2023. The course is okay. From my understanding the course just opened back up after being closed for a while. I will say that the course is headed in the right direction, but just not there yet. The greens and bunkers are ok but consistent. The course overall is pretty dry and sometimes hard to hit on. From tee boxes to the fairways. The course is very narrow and requires great accuracy with the driver or you will be taking a lot of drops. Another addition this course needs is drinking water on the course. There is absolutely none and the golf shop closes at 5, made the round somewhat miserable. The gentleman at the pro shop was very helpful along with the gentleman outside helping with the carts. He told me what to expect and was very attentive. I will be back to this course in a few months to see the improvements I know it will make. Worth the price in the area, check it out.

Island West is a great course for its cost. Greens roll smooth. It seems to slowly get better and better every time I play. Can definitely see improvements from now versus when it first reopened after being closed.

Incredible staff. Course was in great shape. Lots of wildlife and beautiful old oak trees. Just challenging enough for a beginner and an experienced golfer to enjoy.

Best kept secret as the course is decent and priced right for residents. A lot of value! They've done a real nice job bringing this course up to par⛳️?. Very friendly staff and pretty good driving range.

Greens could be a lot better but not bad fir the price.

I called a week in advance for a tee time and when we came in we were told we didn’t have a tee time then we got treated with disrespect from the guy at the front desk immediately, as we were getting close to the end of the course we got met by man on a cart and he said something and he didn’t hear me respond and he started yelling at me “YOU HEAR ME BOY??” We were also kicked off the course at 4:45 even though it clearly states the course closes at 5:30. I’m very disappointed because I paid 160 dollars for two people to golf I would expect a little bit of decency and respect.

This is a nice track with plenty of challenging holes having to deal with waste areas and water hazards. The course is on its way back after being shut down for so long. The greens are a bit bumpy, and there are some weeds and bare spots to contend with, but you can tell they are working hard to restore the course to its former condition. The staff is friendly and courteous and the pace of ply is great.

I have played the course quite a few times pre-Covid and enjoyed it. This time, not so much. The course was in terrible shape. The course was either soaking wet or bone dry. I haven't had to play " winter rules" this much back home. The greens were fuzzy and painted green. The tee boxes for the most part required a hammer to put a tee in the ground. The forward tees were in poor shape. The lounge was closed, so one couldn't enjoy a bite to eat and a beer to offset an unenjoyable round. I would not waste a golf day here, if you are on vacation.
