We went to a family lunch to celebrate the birthday of my sister-in-law. Since we are originally from Buffalo, you can imagine how much we enjoy R Bar. There are all the foods we are accustomed to from our hometown. There was a very pleasant and courteous waiter at our table. In spite of the fact that he entered all of our orders correctly, there was a little mishap in the kitchen between mine and my sister-in-law's sandwich. We swapped what we could between her order and mine so they would not have to remake my sandwich and she would simply need a new one. Upon explaining what we had done, a lady in a Pittsburgh Penguins shirt emerged from the back abruptly asking in a rude tone, "tell me what is wrong with this sandwich". She replied, "Well it's already half eaten," while she touched with her bare naked hands, expecting my pregnant sister-in-law to take it back. Please note that it was not half eaten, I still had the other part on my plate, and she indicated that she required it back in order to prepare a completely new sandwich. In an effort to appease such a miserable soul, I politely returned the half of chicken finger to her. As a result of our further discussion, she took her poor attitude back to the kitchen and remade the sandwich. As a result of this lady's poor attitude regarding an issue her kitchen staff had created, we were all very uncomfortable. It would be prudent for her to consider other careers if a messed up sandwich has the potential to make her that angry.

I just had the strangest dining experience I've had in a long time at R Bar. I've been there multiple times with my wife and we had a great time. On Feb 2, 2024, I went by myself to get take-out. When I entered, there was a young lady behind me. We found 2 of the last 2 seats at the bar. She was carded and served right away. I sat waiting while 2-3 bartenders waited on several patrons. I sat there for 5-10 minutes never approached by any bartender. The guy next to me received a pizza to-go, delivered right next to me and I was ignored. It was so strange. I'm black, 6'2" 215lbs...pretty hard to miss. I left, very surprised and disappointed. My wife is white and I very, very rarely use race as reason for bad service. However, in this case I'm dumb founded. I can't say I'll never go back. My wife likes the place. If I do, a side salad will be my meal, I won't spend more. In 2024, I thought we collectively were better. I guess not. BTW, shout out to Cheap Seats Tavern 2 in Bluffton. I got their wings after leaving R-Bar. Their wings are amazing.

This bar is large and is a sports bar, which for me is a positive...albeit a Buffalo Bills bar. They have a lot of tv's for watching games. The biggest drawback to this bar, especially one this big, is the number of beers on tap....only 7 beers on tap, which is inexcusable. I've been in much smaller bars (sf ft) and they had 20 or more beers on tap. Had a burger which was good, the fries were a bit under and were soggy.

Very deceiving exterior. Good sports bar. Service was excellent, food is good and lots of TV's. Obviously load on a Saturday night but was fun. Prices are reasonable.
