Another choice for Breakfast in Area. The decor is unique and area was clean and well lit. Good selection. Coffee was terrible, both times, we were there. Breakfast Burrito was OK. Granola, tree hugger bowl, was good, but lacked Granola! Haley C, was our server, not over the top attentive, but acceptable. I did like the Pecan muffin also. Great place just to hang out, too bad coffee wasn't better tasting. We walked from our Rental. Close to other stores. Parking was good. Area outside for pets also. Popular for locals.

Meh. For Charleston being such a foodie place, this was our worst experience, and we've been coming to the city for years. Waitstaff did not seem to care, food was cold and overcooked at the same time - looked it too, should never have left the kitchen, much less hit the table. The atmosphere is fun, hence the extra star, but this hit the mark in multiple ways. We are big tippers generally, and decidedly undertipped. Our rec, continue into Folly for a much better experience.

Place is super adorable, great vibes. The server was really nice as well. The food on the other hand was not good unfortunately. The waffles are the only thing that was ok. Home fries looked burned but were slightly hard inside, not fully cooked. The French toast and pancakes tasted microwaved, and the sausage was very salty.

Absolutely phenomenal experience. I’ve lived on folly for over a year now and finally made it here. They have the best coffee on the island, oh and smoothies, there’s also an espresso bar, but if none of that is for you, get the Bloody Mary and call it a day. Ask for Connecticut when you get to the host stand. They will seat you with Andrea (who’s from Connecticut) and it’s all down hill from there. Be chill, be cool, tip high, stay blessed.“Mic drop”….”Crowd goes wild”

We stopped here for coffee and to get breakfast to go. The lady behind the bar was not friendly. She took all of our coffee orders and we assumed she would then take our food orders, but she walked away. She then made all our coffee orders instead of getting our food orders so we wouldn't be waiting on that. By the time she was finished with all of our coffee we decided not to order food because we didn't want to wait forever for our food. They missed out on money bc apparently she hadn't been to sleep the night before and wasn't on her A-game. She also was talking to another waitress about the sludge that was in the main coffee pot they were serving to the other guests eating there. I wouldn't go there again if I was starving.

Sweet brunch spot on James Island. I enjoyed the options and fresh ingredients. Closes early then again all of the Charleston/Folly area closes by 9. Early risers will enjoy an eclectic menu and atmosphere. Cool merch and don't skimp on the pimento cheese! *I suggest this Carolina gold on anything!*

Very disappointed, chicken salad was like a paste. No chunk chicken with grapes and pecans. Grits were not creamy like usual, dry. Waitress never came back and refilled drinks and kept looking at her watch. Overall service was subpar. Will not come back again till they get better wait staff and better cooks. Have always enjoyed this place in the past.

Nice beachy vibe and cute outdoor area. This is a good option for a light breakfast or lunch on your way to Folly. I got the Southwestern salad with chipotle cream. It was good, not great. The grilled pineapple was really the best part. I also tried the seasonal cocktail, the blood orange mule. It was VERY sweet. Think Tang. Overall, it's a nice restaurant with lots of options. There's pretty much something for everyone.

Great little breakfast spot. Guess my timing was spot on because we did not wait a minute on a Thursday morning. Our server, Cher, was great. Funny, fast, efficient, and I never saw the bottom of my coffee cup. She had the Huevos Rancheros, very tasty. I have the combo breakfast the eggs, sausage, and home fries - sweet. Good value - we have to come back and try lunch!!

Excellent food, friendly service. Fun cocktails and espresso drinks. Worth the wait if there is one. Huevos Rancheros was delicious.

First time coming here. Came for lunch with coworkers. Wait time wasn't bad. Not personally my favorite but would still suggest to give it a try! Someone got the chicken and waffles and it smelled really great. The waitresses seemed nice and talkative, service was friendly. Seemed to get a lot of business as well so the food has to be good for people to keep coming back.

We had a great breakfast as a family. Recommend the biscuits and gravy with a sunny side up egg. Americano coffee was good, not great. Very friendly, quick service. Would definitely recommend.

You can never go wrong with breakfast at Black Magic Cafe! I had the seasonal lavender lemonade mimosa and it was perfect! My husband wanted a bloody mary but they don't serve hard liquor until 10 am. Not a big deal, just something to note. We both got the standard egg breakfast. Everything came out quick and hot! We always look forward to stopping here when we are in town.

Happy accident! That’s what Black Magic Cafe was for me. After my wife and I had attempted to go to a cafe down the street, only to find out it was closed in arrival, my wife Google searched and found Black Magic Cafe and it did not disappoint! Much better vibe! The food was amazeballs! The grits!! Highly recommend ?? - definitely will make this a stop the next time we’re in town from Ohio. Don’t forget to shop small and buy some of their cool merch! We picked up a sweet coffee mug to add to our collection back home!

We were headed for another restaurant on our way to Bowens Island for the Eco tour. This place is SO COOL ? Aesthetically fantastic and the food was great too! Highly recommend if you’re in the area!!
