Fantastic Food, super fresh, the staff were excellent and the atmosphere was really cool. Hands-down one of the best restaurants that Charleston has to offer without a doubt you have to go to this place. If you visit Charleston one little tidbit, it opens up at five. If you wanna even be considered to go in there, they do not take reservations get there at 4 o’clock. You may find yourself in a line of 30 people, but you will get in.

Small and somewhat noisy room a bit off the beatenpath, but fabulous food.

Absolutely the best food I have had in Charleston! Each plate was like a work of art. And the dessert (pic shown) of fried chicken was insane. A chocolate covered pretzel with ice cream and waffle cone flakes that make it look exactly like a fried chicken drumstick.

We stopped in for Valentine’s Day. The host made sure to set realistic expectations for our wait allowing us to lallygag around downtown before dinner. Once it was time for dinner we had the best server, they provided wonderful recommendations and our food came out at the perfect time from start to finish. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. We were seated right near the door and it was a little cramped but the food had me in a trance so it was easy to ignore.

Food was fantastic, well evidenced by the rest of the reviews. Highlights for me were the Caviar Sammich' and the Celery Salad. The celery salad serves a special place on the menu as a less-salty cleanser--along with the oyster selections. You really cant miss the Caviar Sammich' though!Hostesses also were wonderful. But I was disappointed with the table service. The first aspect being the menu: its really hard to read from our seats, and I struggled through ordering off it. That small gripe was compounded by our server. Someone in our party had a dairy restriction and we were essentially playing guess-and-check with what did or didn't have dairy in it with our waiter while using an image Id taken of the menu on my phone and my notes app--there was plenty on the menu that we all could eat and we had a wonderful meal, but ordering was unnecessarily difficult and our waiter could have been more helpful.Dietary restrictions: Difficult to obtain information about the menu but there were plenty of options available.

Hands down best restaurant I've been to in Charleston! Grouper Ceviche, grilled oysters, smoked tile fish curry, and Blue crab tagliatelle were all fabulous. Service was awesome. We sat at the bar and were able to talk to and watch the chefs work their magic...Highly recommend you get there around 4 for 5 o'clock opening...

This was the most disappointing experience after waiting 90 minutes at the door. Are you kidding me? Great food? Half a cauliflower in the oven for $20? I had to eat alone a plate of pasta with crab (way too much butter/cream and very little crab) while my husband waits for 40 minutes for shrimps that never came. You're crowded. So what? It is your responsibility to serve people. You chose to be a restaurateur. You are responsible for your chef, your sous chefs and your staff and the timing of service. Your mission is to please your customers and you failed. You can't even provide the customers with a menu. Since when does one have to get up to read the menu on a board? You are not a shack on the beach.I am French and I know food. There is another place in town called the Ordinary: learn from them.

The bone marrow with tempura shrimp never disappoints. Honestly, everything on the menu is spectacular. Chubby Fish never disappoints and is well worth the wait.

Excellent in every way. There were no reservations, but the hour 15-minute wait was worth it.

Our mission while in Charleston was to eat delicious and unique food every day during our vacation...Chubby Fish did not disappoint!! We learned about it from Zach at The Darling and so happy we took the leap. We had delicious oysters with a curry sauce(sounds awful but was sooo delicious and a unique way if enjoying these beloved bivalves). Husband had roasted lamb, excellent. We observed a table next door enjoying some kind of salad piled HIGH with finely grated parm...turns out it was their uber thin celery salad with tiny purple potatoes and the lightest touch of dressing to polish it up. So. Darn. Good! We ended with non-fried chicken leg...such a sweet, creamy and crunchy treat. Thank you KATE for excellent service and wine selection!!! Totally worth the 40 min wait!!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. A true culinary experience. Each dish was so unique and was like a symphony of flavors in your mouth. Bravo Chef. A little small on the portions of the food and the restaurant itself. I’m gonna have a hard time justifying eating elsewhere in Charleston.Parking: No parking lot. Prepare to walk a little.
