Historical meeting with quiet ambiance. The most extensive wine list for outstanding selection choices. Service is just amazing from beginning to end. The bartender Denis is top of the line!

BEST restaurant I have ever been to and this is not an overstatement! The service was very professional and I felt like I was attending a classy dinner 138 years ago with my partner. World class chef who is very creative with his menu. The food is on the pricy end but the caliber of the food and service trumps it! The staff puts a lot of effort into what they do- I love their passion. Highly recommend!

The service was excellent. The food, at best, was average. Disappointing.

Outstanding location for rehearsal dinner. The food was some of the best we had while visiting Charleston. Our menu started off with champagne that was very tasty. Dinner menu consisted of choice of sea scallops or steak, squash soup, cheese salad and strawberry shortcake for dessert. We were placed in a lovely private room on second floor that was decorated by the restaurant with candles and a few greenery and nice linens. Everyone raves about the food. There was nothing we didn't like. The service was impeccable. I would highly recommend this place for quaint dinner for two very romantic and cozy atmosphere to posh group get together to celebrate anything special. Will definitely revisit here when we have a chance to look at menu and order for ourselves. Can't wait!

The restaurant was lovely. The waitress was excellent. The food was much to be desired. The portion sizes were poor and the select wasn’t true genuine, southern flare. I am a culinary graduate.

Embarking on an evening at this restaurant offers more than just a meal; it presents an upscale dining experience par excellence. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance suggests a suit and tie vibe, aligning with the sophisticated clientele that frequents this establishment. The service is exceptional, ensuring that every need is met with a smile and professionalism that adds to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The quiet atmosphere of the dining area invites intimate conversations, making it an ideal spot for special occasions or a luxurious night out. As for the cuisine, it's nothing short of delicious, with each dish presenting a blend of flavors that are both unique and satisfying. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of food, service, and atmosphere justify the expenditure. In essence, be prepared to spend a little extra for an evening that promises elegance, culinary delight, and impeccable service, ensuring a memorable experience.

Service was incredible from start to finish. The drinks at the bar were a sensory delight! Brought to our table and seated and given every courtesy you would expect of fine dining. Never had to wait or ask for service. We were pampered from beginning to end. The devil is in the details and none were missed! Thanks to all for an amazing experience!Dietary restrictions: We were asked several times about it. Nothing was missed.

We chose Circa 1886 to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and we were very glad we did. What a wonderful place for a special meal. The food was fabulous as was the service. The little things like the Happy Anniversary chocolate on our dessert were very appreciated. We had a really nice night and felt the staff was great at what they do. If you are looking for that extra special place in Charleston, then this is your spot.

Charleston has many high end dining options. Circa 1886 does not take 2 nd place to any of them. My wife and I originally from NY now living in Charleston enjoy high end dining. We decided to dine at Circa 1886 to celebrate her birthday. If you enjoy dining in a 200 year old building, with wonderful ambiance. Excellent service and off the charts creative food, then this is the place for you. This is not just dinner it’s a dining experience. We will be back .
