Think dive bar of coffee shops, but better. The coffees pretty good, the art changes all the time and it's always interesting, and is the cool locals you'll find sitting at the bar. Worth a pop in.

This place is sooo cute !! I love it. The owner is so funny and sassy! They have SO many options for different drinks wow, Starbucks has nothing on this place. We came here for the weekend and this was the first place we stopped at. This place screams Charleston!

Spent two lovely mornings here this past week easing into my day with pleasant conversation and great coffee! Candace, the owner, is genuine warm and friendly and you can just feel the sense of family and community this local coffee shop exudes.

My husband, who is a bit of a coffee snob, has proclaimed that city lights has the best Flat White that he's ever had. I have to agree...it was delicious. My dad had the carrot cake and it was also amazing. They are apparently moving to a new location soon, but we will definitely find them when we get back to Charleston.

Discovered this gem in our final day in Charleston. After passing a few hotel coffee bars, we came to City Lights Cafe where the barista was charming, friendly and seemed to know many customers by name and order. If I lived here, I would probably go every morning. The “Cheers” of coffee shops.

One of the best coffee shops I've been to. Stopped in from out of town, got the white chocolate coffee milkshake and highly recommend. Friendly staff and cute place. Will be back!

Good coffee but the barista was pretty rude and dismissive....I got an iced coffee, but he didn't give me a straw so I asked for one and he just shoved a box in front of me without saying a word. I don't usually expect amazing service or anything but it was pretty off-putting.

Tiny little coffee shop with strong espresso and tasty pastries!!! We stopped in while walking around and there was a small line, but worth the wait! The barista was super nice and patient. We ordered 3 drinks and 2 pastries, everything was wonderful. Definitely try a croissant!!!

Candace lights up the ENTIRE shop, remembers everyone's names, and she multitasks better than anyone I've ever seen. Oh yeah! And the coffee is fabulous :)

A bit peeved,, only one person working.. tons of intricate drinks and all I want is a cup of black coffee. Not even an acknowledgement from the employee. Just a bunch of people standing around waiting for their turn to bark their order. I left. Went to a different spot instead.
