First time trying El Pollo Guapo. Had a late lunch 3pm on a Monday. My wife and I both had tacos with fries and rice. The filling in the tacos was ok but the shells were stale. The fries were extremely oily and overly seasoned and the rice tasted like instant that was reconstituted hours before and left under heat lamp. Overall a very disappointing meal. And all the reviews I have read are good reviews. Will never go back.

So glad to have this spot close by. Everything is great. Love the bowls and the whole chicken. Plantains are inconsistent. Sometimes they’re perfect and other times they’re hard and dry. Some of the best fries in Charleston though.

We were visiting Charleston, and our family has a number of food allergies - milk, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, plus I'm gluten-free. We are accustomed to limited options, being disappointed, and risking allergic reactions when eating out. So, we were unexpectedly blown away by how delicious the food was. There were so many options that we could enjoy.The crispy brussel sprouts and arroz con pollo was milk, nut and gluten free. My kiddos with milk, egg, and nut allergies loved their quesadillas, tacos, and sweet potato fries. The food was fresh with quality ingredients, bursting with flavor AND no one got sick after eating there. Win! Win! Win!It was so nice not to have to sacrifice flavor for safe food. I look forward to eating here again the next time we visit Charleston!

We stopped in our way back to Greenville from Folly Beach and loved this place. The food was amazing and there were good, healthy options for the kids. Loved the vibe, the design, the menu, the beer list. Will definitely be back next time we're in town.
