Had our anniversary dinner here. 10/10 so good. JB is the best server I’ve ever had! Not only a great server but a great man. He made our night!

Have been to Grill 225 before with my wife. This time we brought our teen boys and the experience was wonderful. The service was top notch and he made my boys feel very welcomed and that they were just as part of the dining experience as anyone there. We will be back on our future visits to Charleston.

After having dinner at another location we went up to the rooftop to enjoy a nightcap at their rooftop bar. It was quite a view getting out of the elevator and spotting their pool which looked much too easy to want to walk into it. By pure luck, there was a table available, which we pounced on. It showed such an amazing view of the skyline, underneath a Christmas lights lit umbrella. My best friend ordered a dirty martini while I got a Blue Moon. We chilled out, people watched and looked out to the streets below while just enjoying our vacation.

We were very disappointed with our experience at Grill 225. From the moment we walked through the door we were “not” greeted by the host who just looked angry and unengaged. Our waiter seemed to be serving several other tables, water was never refilled, and we were asked once if everything was ok. We ordered lobster which was tasteless and steak. You would think when picking up our plates, you would notice that only a few bites of the lobster was eaten. We did not speak up because we didn’t want the server to think we wanted money off the bill. When we left we waited 15 minutes for our car. We understand it was a busy evening but when we asked the host he said I just work here!” We find it hard to believe that you would put such an unfriendly rude person as the first impression for the restaurant. A year ago we had an incredible experience at your restaurant…. It has drastically changed. We will not be back again.

Great meal and Jimmy was a wonderful server. Made reservations well in advance for a scheduled visit to the city. I highly recommend it. Please have the courtesy to dress in at least business casual. I everyone was, and it maintained a fine dining experience

Grill 225 never disappoints. Top-notch service and food was amazing. I love that they accommodated me with my table near window. The people watching and view of the customs house was fantastic.

Our dinner here was delicious as always. My husband enjoyed a ribeye and lobster tail, and I have the jumbo lump crab cakes. Service provided by JB was excellent as well; our second time dining with him.

On the last night of our first trip to Charleston we had the great joy of dining at Grill 225.Delicious food prepared with incredible attention to detail in an elegant setting. The genuine hospitality and warm service from Charleston native John made our evening so special. We started with a great B.L.T. Salad followed by The Jumbo Lump Crabcakes with a Tarragon cream and pineapple relish. Sides of broiled asparagus and the Four Cheese Arancini were a foodies dream. The fantastic Pastry Chefs dessert creations are not to be missed. We enjoyed Carolina Peach Cobbler and The Napoleon. Grill 225 exemplifies Charleston in taste and presentation of a truly memorable fine dining experience.

We used to go years before, but stopped after a bad experience with a “charred” MR filet and a less than helpful server. Oak became our go to for years after this happened. Well, last couple visits to Oak the steaks haven't been that good. So I convinced my husband to let's give 225 another chance, and we are glad we did! Service was fantastic, as you'd expect at a place in this tier, but the food was also wonderful with steaks cooked to perfection at medium rare. The side dishe offerings aren't that exciting, but we will deal with that in order to have quality steaks.
