We are traveling from out of town and saw this restaurant on our way to our hotel and decided to come by. We were really pleased with the service and especially the food. Everything was excellent. Highly recommend it.

My husband and I ate here for the first time about 10 or 11 years ago (2011). It was so good we talked about for years after and came back to Charleston specifically just to eat here about 4 years ago (2019). At that time we noticed that the quality of the food and flavors was not as good as the first time but still delicious. A year later, 2020, we came back and the food was significantly low quality for the price and the usual experience. We decided that it was a fluke and COVID was wreaking havoc on businesses everywhere. Tonight, Feb. 2024 we tried again....Italian food is my favorite food, I have raved about this place to anyone who would listen ever since the first time. Tonight was the worst Italian food I've ever eaten in 41 years of eating. We spent over $100 and were so disappointed. I don't think we are going to come back.

Came in the other night, my server was very rude, I believe her name was Veronica, she smelled really bad like cigarettes and cheap perfume, and had a nasty attitude. Took forever to bring us the check. The guy with the yellow hair, kept rolling his eyes at other guests. Very bad vibes, and the place was not clean. Food subpar. They look very unprofessional and unkempt.

We went on a double date here, first time here in about 6 months. My fiance and I had decent meals, but certainly nothing great. My partners shrimp was overcooked though. Our friend had awful food though, with no real flavor and both of their dishes (which were pasta) were unbearably dry. All 4 of us tried those dishes and agreed they were not good at all. The server was also rude the entire time. Even when my fiance asked for a lemon when he was taking our order, he sighed and rolled his eyes. Every single time we had a request we got an eye roll, and we were not being complicated and were polite despite the food and poor service. We definitely aren't coming back. I do hope this place can get back to where it was a few years ago when it was actually good.

If you’re looking for good Italian food made by an Italian family that really knows what they’re doing this is the place to come. They have a sampler that will blow you away that includes four different types of food and each bite was better than the last. Everything that we have tried here has been amazing and on top of the food the owners are just so welcoming that you feel like you’re eating in a family home in the countryside of Italy. Highly recommended and don’t forget to get the bread…. it’s homemade and you have to be careful….you may just fill up on it and it would be a shame to not have room for desert.

Sunday dinner while traveling. Caesar salad with anchovies was delicious. Mains were Veal Picata, capers, artichokes, pasta in a fresh lemon sauce and Fruite de Mare over linguine with lots of seafood in a light spicy tomato sauce. Shared a bottle of Cabernet. Both meals were freshly made and served piping hot which was a plus. Our waiter was courteous, attentive and pleasant to chat with. We actually had a few laughs together. I suggest trying La Fontana to experience it yourself.

Just had the most amazing meal here! Moving from New York City I was missing Italian food and this restaurant made me feel like I was back home. The staff was amazing and the ambience reminds me of old school Italian restaurants back home. Definitely will be back!

Romantic and quaint but the food was cold. Waitress cleared our plates and we ordered an Uber that was 13 minutes out. She never came back to give us bill. We had to ask for it when our car arrived. The restaurant wasn't overly busy so this was particularly unacceptable .

Love this place! Went tonight for dinner and Ant our server was awesome and very efficient. Didn’t have to wait for refills, he was spot on for our needs. Our daughter ordered the pasta bowl to be made at the table they fire up and it was great, she chose the veal and loved it. I had the itilian sampler and soooo good! Husband had a veal dish and his was great as well. Service was very fast and the food tasted fresh and great! I found out they also do catering so we could order for family night in and pick it up!!!

I wanted to like it. Owners were the only two working the FOH. For this, I was more understanding....However, everything was bad. Meatball app was two little meatballs for $18.00. What? Paid for bread, I had to ask twice, got the stink eye for asking...when she brought it to the table, we already had our dinners for about 15 minutes...and it was stale. Both dinners were heavily covered in sauce and the meat was tough. Ordered a drink, took another 20 minutes. The owner had cut the AC on because she was hot....Everyone in the place had jackets on. One lady complained she was cold and was scolded...Both owners were completely run down, and frankly, need to probably retire as they don't seem to want to do this. Worst part, my bill, after tip, was $150....yes, I tipped...I felt terrible for them both, but they way they choose to run their business is not good. I've had much better at Olive Garden for half the cost.

Pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent. Had the meatballs, nice and soft and very flavorful. The Chicken Parmesan was delicious and nice texture. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. Looking forward to returning and trying other offerings.
