I went to Charleston Pour House on Sunday to listen to Motown Throwback, what a great band! It was an enjoyable day except for my experience with an exceptionally rude bartender. I ordered a glass of wine which was barely drinkable for my palate so I returned to the bar and politely asked to exchange it for a different type of drink. When I was asked to pay full price for the replacement I told the bartender that I thought that the new drink should be comped or at least discounted due to the quality of the first drink, she sharply said “That’s not the way it works. I cannot resell the wine.” When I asked to speak to a manager, she said she was the manager, then sarcastically asked me “Is this your first time at a bar?”When I told her I was not appreciative of lack of customer service she replied “There are plenty ofbars in Charleston so why don’t I go to another one” She then said “You don’t have to take the new drink if you don’t want it” and literally attempted to remove it from my hands. I did pay for the drink and did not return to the bar. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of this ill-mannered woman, she was blond, 30ish, and claimed to be a manager. I have not previously written a negative review on a person or business however this was so over the top and beyond rude I felt it needed to be addressed. Thus my one star review.

Charleston is a great music town and the Pour House is the best of all of them. Whether it’s national or regional touring bands or the best local bands, they book them all. From Spring to Fall the deck is the best.

Was truly saddened yesterday at 5:30 when I tried to take my wife to see a band on the back deck. Being disabled makes life kinda difficult, it's a big change to one's daily life. Because of my severe nerve damage I have major issues with my body between my waist and my head. Because i couldn't comfortable where a wrist band I was not allowed in. I asked multiple times to just put it around my belt loop on my jeans but no. I have loved the pour house since I moved to Charleston back in 2011 and I have got to see it grow, and grow, and change. It's a wonderful part of the community. But because of a texting teen driver I was T-boned on my Harley on front of Boone hall in 2016. I'm now one of thee people in the world with seven titium ribs. 11 of the 12 where broken. I don't remember any of this because of the comma, the three skull fractures and six brain bleeds. I learned that each of our rubs has its own nerve that runes directly from the spine. If they weren't damaged in the accident dr. Robertson openly told me he had to cut them to do what he did. I thanks MUSC everyday for keeping me alive, but I have to live in a world that I'm extremely judged for certain things because I don't LOOK disabled. I try not to use my handicap parking because I'm judged. I can't explain what a chest/side full of titium feels like under 50 degrees. Just turns to stone. But I will park in the back of the lot and walk so I'm not looked at badly. Anyway please try and not judge everyone based on looks .I guarantee if I was in a wheel chair yesterday they would have caterers to my needs.

The music was good however this is a beer drinking place because they do not know how to pour a drink. Only two second Pours and the bartender is rude when you let him know. you would think with the pour in their name they would at least give you a fair good pour

The Pour House is one of my favorites venues in the country! The sound and staff are on point. The atmosphere is fun and full of local artists both music and paint. 10 outta 10 I do recommend. Thank you Pour House for all that you do for us!

Staff was very rude when I asked about turning on the deck heaters on a cold February evening. There is no re-entry during events to go get a jacket. There are no blankets either. Good sound engineering for folk music.
