This place rules. Recently moved to the area. Tried the Roost for a playoff game and the atmosphere is terrific. The club sandwich is EXCELLENT with a smokey flavor. The wasabi seared tuna was crazy good! Our server was Jess and she was awesome. 100% will go back.

If you're in your 20's and 30's, this is a great place! Great music too. Just flew in to Charleston with 30 minutes before the New Year, found this place just a few blocks from my hotel just in time to celebrate!

If you are looking for a cozy bar where you can get good food and watch sports, then you have come to the right place at The Roots. For little money you have a well-filled stomach and the service is certainly friendly. For parking you have to be in one of the side streets. And a tip: no, the bar is not closed - it only seems that way. Check Google and just pull that door. Got absolutely no service, did get menus though… after sitting down for nearly 40 minutes ?
Loved it. Band was great. Server was great. My only contention is I couldn't talk to my date bc the music was so loud.

Food was very good bar fare. Chef came of the kitchen to talk with us before the meal and again after the food arrived. We would definitely come back.

We love this spot, in Charleston's Avondale area. It's a pub for sure, but the food is very good and the seating is open and comfortable. We love a band that plays there often. A waitress was bringing people in our age group cups of water while we danced! That's some nice service. It is a Carolina football bar but they are nice to Clemson and other fans as well.
