Zero complaints. We read all the reviews and took the advice: she crab soup, shrimp and grits: AMAZING! Bubbles on King for pre-dinner cocktail. You will be in heaven. Maitre d' and staff are super friendly. Fast service on a Friday night. What else could you want? Wow.

Located in the bottom of the Francis Marion Hotel, this restaurant and bar features southern cuisine in a relaxed setting. I had a shrimp burger with the collards (which, though flavored with pork, were also very sugary, which is usually and either/or kind of thing). We also had the she crab soup, which was likewise more heavily bell pepper flavored than either on of us were used to, so I think southern favorites with the chef's own non-traditonal twist would be a fair assessment. Over all, nice meal at a reasonable price for downtown Charleston.

For the price that we paid, really nothing special. The shrimp and grits were salty and a little greasy. The pappadelle pasta actually was not made with ziti pasta. It also was a little bit salty. Would not go back and would not recommend.

We had reservations for a family birthday. Everything went smoothly. Food was excellent, service was beyond perfect, and we weren’t rushed even though it was a busy weekend night. A perfect birthday!

Made a reservation for 7:30pm. This was done with plenty of time. When we showed up at 7:33pm, our table was taken they asked us to wait. We waited for over 45 minutes with no communication. When we decided to leave they offered us a table….

We arrived at 5:50 and didn't receive our meal until 6:45. When a couple who came about 15 min after us were served first, we asked about our meal. We were told it was behind because of a group in the other room. Since they arrived about 20 min. after us, that was clearly not the case. The waitress never kept us updated or offered us additional bread or anything else while we waited. We also had to keep asking for water. The pork dish was wonderful, but the crab cakes were too salty-and this coming from a salt person.

Noisy and service was slow. I remembered their menu having Oysters Rockefeller but it was not listed this time. Good that they offer half-portion salads and appetizers. Food was tasty and the bread outstanding.

Our dining experience at The Swamp Fox restaurant was altogether a wonderful experience and we knew immediately... we would return in the future. While both the food and ambiance were very very nice ( the gentleman playing live at the piano was another special touch ), the singular element that made our dining experience particularly special... was our server Eric. We DO hope that the owner and manager of The Swamp Fox realize what an especially great asset they have in Eric! Please do be certain to thank him again for us. Eric is a CLASS ACT from moment one, and his demeanor and level of thought Service is truly remarkable. Thank you Eric!

The swamp fox was absolutely terrific a year ago. But I was hugely disappointed yesterday. My club sandwich was sparsely filled with turkey and barely toasted. I typically don't order a club sandwich, but there really was nothing on the menu to tempt me. So unlike my prior visit. no plans to return soon

We ate here for Restaurant Week in January. It was our first time, and we decided to go based on a recommendation from a friend. We couldn't be happier with the experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were huge! Our server, Sylvie, had the cheeriest personality and made us feel very welcome. The whole experience was wonderful, and we can't wait to go back!

The service is top notch ! Only negative would be that our entrees were slightly over done, yet barely warm when they reached our table. Even so, I would not hesitate to dine here again, as it is clear, by host and server, that their first goal is to make sure your dinning experience is wonderful!
