I gave been to this seafoof restaurant twice now, and I have decided that it is the BEST Crab House that I’ve ever been to across the US!!! I’ve eaten a lot of crabs in my lifetime, especially snow crabs, and I’ve just never had them cooked and seasoned as PERFECTLY as this place does them. Without a doubt!! Just SO GOOD! I was actually craving them for a few days before I had a chance to get there yesterday. When they came out I plowed right into them and never stopped. Steamed with Old Bay (I’ve had with my blue crabs, but never with snow crabs) to a perfect texture and full of flavor , and lots of meat in each leg and body.Kenneth was my server both of my visits to this fantastic restaurant, and I couldn’t ask for a better server!! He is friendly, helpful, expedient, gracious and super quick on his feet the entire time I was there — just working so hard, but smiling like it was no big deal! The only thing better than the crabs is Kenneth’s big smile!! I never had to ask for ANYTHING— he was ahead of me for everything. Refills, extra napkins, “to go” tea, etc etc.Perfect dinner —- I cannot WAIT to go back!Parking: Easy to park right near front door.

Visited the crab shack with friends. I've never been as a local, but it seems to be a big spot for tourists. The place was packed. My party arrived on time minus one person and they refused to seat us. I think that was a bad customer service experience. That was a rough start, but we were quickly seated and service was great. I ordered the she crab soup and the salmon salad and oysters. The crab soup was a little thick and lacked much crab. Ended up not eating most of it, the salad was good, nothing special. Salmon was cooked well and had lots of flavor. The oysters good. I liked how you could order the oyster. Overall great spot for big parties.

Hidden gem! We have been going to Charleston for many years and tend to eat in the downtown area. We were late in the game so decided to check this place out. Wow! I would put their she crab soup up against any of the high end restaurants downtown. We also had an appetizer with the mussels that were fresh and spectacular. Even if it's a little out of your way it is well worth checking out. Ask for Alexa best server in town! Shes so fun and we even asked "Alexa" hows the weather in Charleston and she played along..so fun! We also got the broiled seafood platter which came with two sides, again the collard greens were the best I've ever tasted. Does it have the ambience of the places downtown... No. But truthfully who needs it. We walked out of there with a bill of fifty seven dollars and that included two drinks! Amazing! Can't wait to go back!

Delicious she crab soup and the fresh peel and eat shrimp were very large. The seafood pasta dinner also excellent. We enjoyed the hush puppie appetizer with honey butter. We all cleaned our plates! Highly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant did not look or smell clean and I had my doubts walking in. The manager took us to a dirty table and then sent us back to the front while cleaning.I ordered an unsweetened tea and the waitress asked me 3 times if I wanted sweeteners as if I was taking my tea wrong. My daughter ordered a chicken taco from the kids menu and the waitress said that item was no longer on her handheld order machine so she could have it. We ordered the chicken salad off the kids menu and asked for the chicken on the side and she said she couldn’t do that. For her side she asked for mashed potatoes and the waitress denied that her meal came with a side although it clearly said so on the kids menu. Her salad came out hot with very heavily peppered chicken on top. So my daughter ate none of her meal.We ordered crab dip and hush puppies. The flavor was not good and there was hair in the dip.I ordered She-crab soup and it was thick and oily and tasted terrible. No dinner for me either. We informed the waitress and manager of the hair but just asked for the check to leave. We declined boxes from the waitress and she proceeded to push us about asking if we were sure. Lady we were sure we didn’t eat it the first time, not going to eat it a second time.As we were the leaving the manager said don’t let this keep you from coming back. We will never be back…

This crab shack is a local's favorite. My friend and I were in the mood for seafood and we had a fried shrimp and fried flounder baskets which tasted like heaven. The Southern Fried Green Tomatoes came out perfectly! The Crab-Berry Kiss and Pina Colada drinks were so good! Very sweet and tropical. Excellent customer service!

My first time here, I ate a two course January special which is a bargain at $21. 1st course is delicious, creamy, tasty She Crab Soup. For the main course I chose Grilled Shrimp with red rice and collards. One dozen large grilled shrimp is A LOT of seafood, perfectly cooked and nicely spiced. The collards are good too. All topped with good service, it was a nice meal out.
