Tonight the fish was too salty. Normally everything is on point. I still love this place though.

This place is the little secret around the corner. When I tell you the seasonings are seasoning every time we visit. The flounder, perch, croker, whiting are all my personal faves. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU CHECK THEM OUT!! But not on Sundays or Mondays because they are closed ?.Also don't forget your hush puppies... And don't get a few because you will get home to eat and realize you should have gotten more.

I went to this establishment a few years ago and I remembered how impressed I was when I discovered that little gem. I can honestly report that what was a few years ago no longer exists. My Sisters were visiting me on this particular day and wanted seafood for a meal. I remembered Blythewood Seafood Emporium and suggested we go there. There were only two people to handle the ordering and cooking and the young man that took our order seriously need a few courses in customer management and service. That should have been a sign to leave, but, I decided that as unpleasant as the interaction was, that should not have affected the quality of the food. WRONG!! The food was horrible as well! I am a strong proponent in catering to Black Owned businesses, but, not if the food and service is substandard. As far as the appearance of the restaurant it is not how I recall it looking so shabby. It is so disheartening to see a great number of Black businesses which fail to invest money in the building/suite that they occupy. Unfortunately, I will never return.

The food was very good but the portions are small (considering the cost) . The fish is always fresh and cooked to order. The service is always good. The people behind the counter are always very nice.We always get our food to go. There is a nice size sitting area.

I really enjoyed our dinner. The whitting filets were seasoned perfectly. The fries were hot and tasty. The coleslaw was delicious. I usually don't eat hush puppies because they are usually just a bland space filler on the plate. However, these hush puppies were awesome. The entire staff was friendly and professional. The server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We're going back!!!

They food is fresh cooked to order as well as the best fries in the world ……the only thing is if you can ease up on the salt in the batter every time I order everything else perfect just salty or this would be a 5 stars

Lunch group planned on going here yesterday. They open at 11 AM and I showed up at about 11:07AM. You could see someone inside behind the counter, but the doors were closed. I looked in the window and he either didn't see me or no I was there. Another customer showed up A few minutes later and pounded on the window. He apparently had ordered something to pick up a person inside came and open the door and said he had whatever the other guy had ordered, and also mentioned "we weren't making anything right now". He said they didn't have any oil and the guy just called from N. Main St. bringing oil over. Pretty crazy for a restaurant that basically makes mostly fried food...having no oil at the beginning of the day at opening time. I told him I had six guys coming for lunch and we'll just have to go someplace else. So I really can't review the restaurant except for this lack of organization. It's a reflection on management on the poor way to start off a day for a business. We may return and try it some other time, but then we may not.

Great food and great customer service. Was surprised at this little hole in the wall spot. Would definitely go here again

My husband and I were hungry for fish... We didn't know what to expect when we walked through the door, but we were more than pleased with our visit! The staff was so helpful in answering our questions and helping us decide which fish was going to satisfy our cravings. The fish was delicious... Lightly breaded and seasoned perfectly. We had fried okra that was done just right. The coleslaw was homemade and delicious too. We will return!!

This place has been open far too long to be serving burned hush Puppies with undercooked, greasy Shrimp with the breading falling off. That is however what my $20 got me today. Deep frying is pretty easy. Good oil at the right temperature for the right time. It is absolutely inexcusable to have been served food that is burned and undercooked. One time try. Never again.
