I suspect this business has closed; does anyone know for sure? I stopped by today, Friday July 30, around 12:30pm, and it was not open. I tried calling the number listed here and got a Verizon system message saying the number is no longer in service.

I came from TN to visit a friend and decided to pick this place to eat!It was so good! I had the Jack Philly, Daddy Mac, and Yams. I was not disappointed at all. So much great flavors.The only thing about my visit today is that there were no drinks available (They were sold out).But the staff is friendly and made us feel welcomed. I’d definitely be coming again when I pass back through Columbia!

This is a must-try spot for all! The food is wonderfully delicious, warm, and innovative. I went yesterday with my partner and we got an order of fried-cauliflower, jack philly, and the shrimp sandwich special - WOAH!! Some of the best vegan food I've had. It was a great experience and everyone was really friendly. It took about 20-30 minutes to get our food, which is realistic and absolutely worth the wait. The food came out piping hot and full of flavor! They have minimal room to wait inside, but plenty of tables outside in a little court-yard. The perfect place to sit and wait on a good weather day! Please try their food!!!!

First visit was the best I have ever experienced in any restaurant! The food is mouth watering and I am not vegan. You must try this place you will not believe your own mouth. Just DELICIOUS!
So we stopped by Rare Variety Cafe after leaving a wedding this afternoon. The bride recommended this place because she knows I only eat plant based and since this is my first time visiting the city, she says this is the spot. So I ordered the Jack philly with the mac n cheese and sauteed veggies. I tried to get my girl to try the fried cauliflower but she wasn't hungry. I placed my order and we sat outside on patio while they prepared the food. Yes they cooked it fresh to order!! Once it was done, we walked in to get the food and discovered the young lady who cooked it made an order of the fried cauliflower for us to try at no charge. All I can say is the universe definitely smiled on me today! Great freshly prepared goodness! Trust me when I tell you that I devoured my food as soon as we got in the car. It didn't make it out of the parking lot let alone back to the hotel lol. If I wasn't pressed for time I would have placed a second order. Blessings to the sister that greeted us and prepared the food, the brother that came inside and spoke to us, the sister that rang up my order and the entire business as a whole! I know where to go for great plant based food whenever I'm back in Columbia. Btw the sauce for the fried cauliflower is everything! Ase'

Really amazing food. Tried the southern fried cauliflower and it was the best “nuggets” I’ve ever had! Especially with the honey mustard. Will definitely be back for more! The staff is really nice as well!
