The place was absolutely f@$€ing disgusting. The wait was super long and it was not crowed. Would never recommend this place for anyone

Cool spot! Live music Sunday afternoons. I forget the gentleman's name who was playing but he had a great voice and great music selection. Bartenders were AWESOME! Great conversation, great service! Didn't stay for the food but it looked good coming out of the kitchen!

Foods pretty gross most of the time. The only good thing about this place is the beer options if they actually have it. Service is not great either. Floors are the stickiest and dirtiest things on earth.

Sat there for 45 minutes after ordering our food, the restaurant was pretty darn empty. Had to request our food to go because of how long it took. Extremely disappointed in the service, and when we did get the food, it wasn't very good, and I had to help them bag it up. Won't be returning.

Just visited for brunch. The service was great, the menu had a variety on it, and the accommodations were nice........ but the shrimp and grits were awesome! I've had a lot of shrimp and grits but this was the best! Better than some that are from a coastal restaurant in a big city in the lower part of the state. Nice combination of southern pork belly, brown gravy, Cajun seasoning, andoullie sausage over fried grit cakes and the shrimp had been swimming in the gravy. My wife's crab cakes were awesome too. The entertainment (Dave Love) was fantastic and kept us smiling and singing. The price was really good for the great quality and quantity of food.We will be back!!

They have a great brunch menu. Their grit cakes are delicious. We come for brunch and to play a game of pool with our kids on Saturday or Sunday.

A nightmare trying to get in the place. People breaking in line, no order/crowd control. Then, to stand 5 deep to pay for overpriced drinks. College bar, but could use some work. I don't want to get into a fight trying to get into a bar.

Expect to retire before your food comes out, the food and beers are great, it just takes an eternity for the food. The waitress was great, so it's a kitchen problem.

Seems to cater to the college crowd, which makes sense given location. The furniture appeared to be original to the flying saucer bar that occupied the space years ago. Wither it was or not, the furniture had definitely seen better days! We were at a super wobbly table that required a good sand and stain. Plus the women's bathroom was grimy! We went for brunch on a Saturday and the college kids were already enjoying bottomless mimosas. The food was more upscale than expected for the vibe and matched typical brunch expectations. We enjoyed most things we tried except one of the portions in the bacon flight. I can't remember which, but it was too salty, but other folks may like that. Skillet potatos, avocado toast, etc were all reasonably up to standard but didn't overwhelm or exceed expectations.Overall, as a middle aged person I felt a bit out of place though the food was good. I won't be running back though because there are so many other brunch places that have a better vibe for my demographic.

The service was the best part of my visit. Went in for brunch and got the potato skillet and the fried pork tacos. The potato skillet was supposed to have pork fat, but it was more like a pork fat soup with a small side of potatoes. It was absolutely disgusting. The pork in the pork tacos were hard as a rock and not tasty at all. Would not recommend at all for brunch.

We decided to pop into Republic after the basketball game. The restaurant is quaint and has character. It's a casual dining atmosphere with several tv's for those who are sports enthusiasts. There's a bar and pool table inside. I started with the Chocolate Cookie Martini. This was very good but small. This was more of a shooter rather than a martini. For entrees, we had the grilled cheese and the nachos. My food was okay. The tomato bisque was a little smoky and thick. I expected a creamy texture considering that the entree is a bisque soup. The bacon was crispy and it did not have a lot of heat. The nachos were okay. The chips were soggy but the entree was good flavor. I rate this restaurant a "3". This is a good spot for a quick bite.

The food is really good, the beer selection amazing, as it should be. But it looks and kinda smells like a old college bar, so that kinda detracts from the

It's slowly become a college bar but $3 pint nights is still a great Thursday deal.

Great craft beer bar, lots of variety and quite a few taps. Food service stops early, so try it before 9pm. Very fun local college hangout bar.
