So I just moved back to South Carolina and was craving southern belly. I ordered online and when I went to pick it up, the doors were locked and no one was inside. There is no notice of this location being closed either on the website, on a google search, or on the door. Hopefully I can get my money back

The BBQ sandwiches were great. They had a great BBQ flavor and the sauces were exceptionally good. The typical red sauce was very good. The mustard base sauce was outstanding. I had heard that the white sauce was different and I decided to try that as well. I was definitely impressed with the white sauce and would recommend that everyone try it.

Solid Southern BBQ in Columbia. Castro was very good, with a delicious brioche bun and interesting sweet and slightly spicy sauce. Excellent cole slaw.

This place seemed promising but ended with disappointment. No curly fries or slaw anymore... only Lays chips as side. I will say the grilled cheese and Django sandwiches were good at least. Only reason for the 2 star. The tables were sticky and bathroom wasn't very clean. They also had fortune cookies but ended up being stale. Wish I could've visited in its prime! Seems like it was a decent place!

Poor service but the sandwich was decent. Very disappointed with the lack of menu items. No fries, slaw or coke products! The bbq was good, but hard to enjoy after a rough start.

I eat BBQ all over the South East and found Southern Belly to be disappointing. The BBQ is nothing special at all and lacks in flavor and is fatty. There is much much better BBQ to be had in Columbia. We won't be back.

Love this spot!!! A bit pricey for lunch, but well worth it!! Delicious portions and flavorful sauces! UPDATE JUNE 24 2020: I get COVID has put a damper on local restaurants, but our visit last week was still outstanding. Today, it seemed like a completely different spot. No curly fries. Portion of meat was half of usual size. Meat didn't even taste the same. Dirty booths. At least the small amount of service we got was good.
The best barbeque I've ever experienced in my life and I'm 54!. I had the cheese sandwich barbeque. It was tender pork with cheese bacon and yum yum sauce

The restaurant is small, and has limited seating. Service was good, but food did take a while to arrive. They only offer a selection of sandwiches. No traditional meat plates or specialty meats. They have multiple different sauces, which were all very sweet. My sandwich was very very heavy, even without the sauce. Fries were good. Not the best BBQ in Columbia, but also not terrible. I paid $15+ for my sandwich, fries and sweet tea, which for lunch was a little surprising.

Very laid back country place, they have some very nice paintings on the wall. Fast service, I wanted to call my order in but could never get an answer; so I went there and it was only 1 young lady serving customers. I thought it was going to take a while but to my surprise my order came up faster than I expected. The young lady was very nice but she needed help because it was busy and they had her going every-which-a-way but she got the job done.

We are from out of town. The Open sign out front was off when we parked but the Google hours said they were open. Walked in at 2:25 on a Saturday, and the one staff member looked up and said “are you ordering out?” (Um, hadn’t planned on it) “ok well we close at 3” and then went back to wiping the counter. No hello, so smile. Just rude. We are on our way to another BBQ restaurant right now.
