I hadn’t had a good tamal in a long long time so when I moved here to Easley, SC I was excited to find a place where I can purchase homemade tamales. However, after purchasing a dozen of the green tamales I experienced extremely dry and crumbly tamales. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed.

Authentic Mexican bread and foods. Yummy tamales and bread. I buy la abuelita chocolate bars next door and make hot chocolate to go with my bread ? yum

Again, another amazing job on our daughters birthday cake and the tamales to top it off we’re soooooo good. Best cakes around here and I’m never disappointed and they never say they can’t or won’t do what the picture looks like that I bring. This was our 3rd one where I brought in a picture and they did a fantastic job. Thank you so much. See you soon when we come for bread and other goodies.

I stopped by El Buen Pan today. El Buen Pan is a Mexican Bakery located at 1040 S Pendleton Street in Easley. El Buen Pan isn’t just a bakery they have savory items as well as cakes, pastries, croissants, cookies, churros and different types of breads. Some of their savory items are Carnitas, Costilla Asada, Pollo Rostizado and Tamales. There’s also coffee, juices and soft drinks as well. I went in today for churros, no luck today the lady at the front told me they will have them in the morning. I didn’t want to leave empty handed so I got the Tres Leches Strawberry Shortcake. The cake is two slices of vanilla cake with a strawberry filling in between the layers, topped with whipped cream a strawberry glaze on top, sitting in a milk mixture. The cake was delicious and a really nice size, enough for two people. I’m eating it in stages. Stop by El Buen Pan Mexican Bakery if you’re in Easley, I’m going back for those churros!!UPDATEStopped by the bakery at 4:45 today OCTOBER 30, 2023, to pick up a tres Leches cake for a co worker. The door rang to notify them that some one had walked in. I was never waited on, my phone rang, I answered it and had a conversation with my sister. No one ever acknowledged that I was there, I waited at least 15 minutes, it won't happen again.

I Was craving Mexican bread, conchas in particular and saw that I had 30 minutes before they closed. Get to the parking lot and find the bakery pitch black. It was 8:40 pm and it was closed, and they don't open on Wednesdays.

We recently moved to SC and finding good Mexican spots is my priority. The first thing I notice is the smell when you walk in. It smelled like bleach/cleaning product. Good to know store is clean but I wanted it to smell like bread. We tried a couple tamales. Very breaded and not a lot of meat. The rajas was meh. The pollo verde and carne were okay.I get home and try the bread. Concha's and Polvorones are my faves and the way I judge the bakery. The concha's were hard and dry. I could also detect the odor of the cleaning product. Obviously not fresh as it had absorbed some of the odor. Cookies were okay. Might try again if we're in the area but wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

After reading some reviews, We decided to check this establishment out. I've been to a couple of Mexican bakeries over in Greenville, and I'm glad this one is here in Easley! The pastries are so good! We tried a variety and enjoyed each one. But! What I really enjoyed is their food menu! That is definitely worth a stop all by itself. Roasted chicken looked great. We tried the ribs....and wow....so good! Slightly crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside, yum! Also had a torta (sandwich), and I also enjoyed that. They have several choices of those. And not to be left out...tamales! There's chicken, pork, and veggie. The pics are ribs and the torta. There is no seating for dining, but you could definitely get lunch or supper to go here.
