Staff was friendly and accommodating, even though it was packed the server was there to refill drinks and take our orders the moment we were ready. The food was fantastic, my mother in law declared their seafood pasta the best she has ever had. The grilled seafood platter was delicious as well, the shrimp was perfect and I finally ate scallops that I enjoyed. My drink, "The Painkiller" also lived up to its name, my back stopped hurting halfway through. 10/10 can't recommend enough.Wheelchair accessibility: It has wheelchair accessibility.

Being from the Midwest, a good quality seafood boil is such a treat for me as it can be hard to find halfway decent fresh seafood at home. The Charleston boil was loaded with fresh, well-seasoned crab, oysters, and shrimp. Good hot sauce too, for the oysters. I really dug the low-key beach town vibe here. Well done!

This was our second trip to The Crab Shack since we liked it so much on our first visit to Folly Beach. On our first trip we had the Crab Stuffed Flounder and Shacktacular Seafood Pasta. Perfection. This time we both decided to go for the Fried Shrimp & Flounder Platter. Again, the seafood was delicious. However, the collards and red rice were inedible. The rice was dry, and if ruining collards was a crime, this would have been a felony. I am a regular salt user. I even use salt pork in my collards. These collards tasted like someone knocked a five pound bag of Morton's into the collard pot. I'm pretty sure we both hit our salt intake for the year in just the few bites we were able to get down. If we'd had a microwave in our hotel room, we would have asked to sub out those two culinary fails with something else. As it was, leftovers were not an option, so the shrimp and flounder portions were generous and filling enough for our needs. If your selection includes those sides, switch them out with something else.To the collard cook, put some salt pork (fatback) in your water, bring to boil, add collards. Cook. While the collards are cooking, fry up some of the fatback, drain the collards, pour over some of the grease, gently toss, and serve. Let the diners add more salt if they want it. It also tasted like coffee or molasses had been used as a seasoning. Since the broth was dark brown, I can only assume with my taste buds and eyes that is the case. I can also only assume the cook has never tasted how wonderful properly cooked collards are. Or they are a heavy smoker and can't taste anything unless it is heavily seasoned.Change out your sides and you'll be fine. Our waiter was great.

Great food and superior service. On the main road to Folly Beach but has a very 'local' vibe. The house made Carolina crab cakes are a must.

Good bucket of crab for the lovers. Other items on the menu for haters of seafood. This is a good local establishment with a selection of food for all diets. Worth a stop in my opinion.

Like I was back in the 1960's with the pictures on the walls. Food was plentiful and was very flavorful. Cooked Southern style. Country Music playing just topped it off. Enjoyed speaking with the friendly staff.Vegetarian options: Red rice, collards are what I had.
