I really hate that their last day of business is at the end of May. I've only had breakfast! The breakfast plates and biscuits are very good. I can always expect great service and wonderful food. This has definitely made them a staple in Greenville for so many years!

Wonderful place with the best biscuits I've ever had. Sad to see closing, but Tommy deserves retirement.

Sorry to see Tommy go but I know it is a well deserved rest and vacation.

We have eaten here many times in the past and wanted to visit one more time before it closes at the end of May. This time it was just ok. I ordered the french toast with sausage. The toast was barely cooked, sort of mushy and the sausage was so very spicy! My friend ordered 2 eggs, grits, country ham, and toast. It was just average. Our server was not very attentive, as we had to ask another server for a refill of coffee. Tommy was walking around talking to his regulars. Sad, after all these years to end with a disappointing experience.

Hate to see this restaurant close. Hurry in to enjoy this Greenville classic before permanently closing at the end of May 2021

Been 3 YEARS since last visit - time flies. Wanted to stop in one more time before Tommy retires after 36 yr! Place is going to transition to a BBQ place (yeah we need another BBQ place in Greenville). Had 2 eggs, sausage, grits, and biscuit. All very good. I got there early on a SAT after I ran the Zoo 5K, so not that busy. However, Tommy was roaming and talking to the customers as usual, mentioned they were short on server staff. Food was great, will miss this place!

You better come hungry, because the portion sizes are enormous. Everything you can imagine about a southern breakfast is on the menu and is excellent. I highly recommend the grits, biscuits, hashbrowns, eggs and ham. Prices are extremely reasonable. This is a real Greenville institution. We understand it is closing soon as the owner, Tommy, is retiring. Go while it's still open!

Tommy Sullivan has provided decades of hot country cooking for Greenville, with special care for officers and other public servants, in a gathering spot that has met a huge range of community needs. He will be missed.

Let me add to the chorus of praise for this wonderful restaurant and it's proprietor, Tommy Stevenson. Pre-virus I was in Greenville about once a month on business. My first stop was always a morning run on the Swamp Rabbit in TR; next stop was at Tommy's where I surely recovered the calories I just burned. Mr. Stevenson took my order at the drive-thru occasionally and was always so kind and generous. I'll never forget the time he asked me about the US Marine Corp sticker on my truck which I display in recognition of my son who served. He was so thoughtful and expressed his appreciation for my son's service. Do yourself a favor and get by Tommy's while you can. You'll receive a heaping portion of genuine Southern hospitality.....and the food ain't bad either.

They are closing next month (May 2021). My experiences here have been great. The food is always as ordered, fresh, and served with a smile. I'm going to miss this place.

I was deeply, deeply saddened to hear about Tommy's Country Ham House; affectionately known as "The Ham House", announce their closing at the end of this month. Started in 1985, The Ham House has served the community with fresh, home-style cooking, and played host to many a visiting politician; pictures of whom are posted along the walls leading up to the food line. As well known as the restaurant is owner Tommy Stevenson, who is a local legend in sense, and loved by all who knows him. I personally have been coming here with my family since I was 18 months old, and the fine folks at Ham House, especially owner Tommy, are like family too. Knowing I had limited time to visit, I took an anniversary in the family as a good opportunity to stop in for lunch, celebrating not only a long marriage but 36 years of a beloved local eatery. Naturally, I ordered country style ham, country steak and also some green beans, spinach and okra. Everything was delicious, especially the sweet tea! After my meal, I bought a commemorative t-shirt, which Tommy signed. He was even kind enough to pose for a quick photo! I am sad to see The Ham House close its doors, but I'm happy to have the many memories I do, and to have my shirt and photo which I can keep for years and years to come. Thank you Tommy, and thank you to everyone at Tommy's Country Ham House for all the years of fond memories.

Tried the sweet potato pancakes and was impressed. Not just ham on the menu. Tommy is retiring soon. Not sure why they're not passing it (was told that it is closing) on since it's so busy. Ordered two eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns and OJ, and it was good as expected.

We always enjoy our trips to Tommy's. It's over an hour away from us so we don't get to come as often as we'd like. We've been visiting Tommy's for several decades and will miss his good food and smiling face when he retires. He's truly a treasure.
