I came 20 minutes before closing, so they didn’t have the toaster on. That I can understand. The menu had no clear options on it, I figured it would be like a deli but no, it was more based on the spreads which they didn’t even list. I ordered from one of the three things they had and it came in a plastic sealed bag cold. On top of that, it was the wrong thing. The cashier (the girl with the eye piercing) was very rude. Also, 3pm is such a weird time to close on a Tuesday. I normally never leave bad reviews, and I know I sound like a Karen, but I was very disappointed because I was looking forward to trying this local joint.

The PBJ is more of a half-inch thick peanut butter and no other real taste of any jelly, honey, or whatever they use. It needs a little less of the Peanut butter and a little more jelly. Very clean. A little pricey for just a basic sandwich. Better for the other type ir Ham, Pepper and onion for $3.50.

I usually have a great experience at dukes. Today 3/18/2024 I did not. They close at 3:00 everyday. I showed up at 2:30. The woman looked at me as though she could kill me. Literally. So she snatched my money out of my hand and then rolled her eyes. In other words not a very decent experience. It sucks though. Duke's is a staple of the south. I hate to not come back. I guess I'll have to decide that later.

Lady at the front counter was rude. Walked in at 2:20 and there was a line. Came our time to order and she said we close the dining room at 2. We stop toasting at 2:30. Might as well close at 2. Food isn’t anything to write home about anyways will not be back.

Very sad excuse for a sandwich. I got the club sandwich which had one piece of turkey and one piece of ham. I have passed this place many times and figured I’d give it a try. I will not be back nor would I recommend anyone giving it a try.

Tried the worst ham and cheese sandwich ever. Mrs Duke would never serve ham that thin. Dukes use to serve ham that was 1/8” thick and now you have to measure in metric (mm). Restaurants serving food like that should start selling shoes

Read this was a must try Greenville food institution. Tried the egg salad was reeeaaal basic nothing discerning from grocery store egg salad.
Small homey place. We got the BLT, the chili dog, and a bag of chips for 10 dollars total. The staff was respectful, and when I accidentally ordered the wrong thing they replaced it free of charge (if you want a hotdog with chili, don't order the chilidog, or an all the way).
We stopped by because of the Duke's shows up on a few different websites when searching for popular places to eat around Greenville. Instead of getting sandwiches, we decided to get the small takeaway container of egg salad. Frankly, it was just OK. Very plain, no seasoning, and not much flavor. I ended up having to add green olives, celery, and mustard to make it have any real flavor.

I used to LOOVVE Dukes Sandwich back yrs ago and used to go a good bit, I have even worked for the co twice when I was younger, so I know what I am talking about. I happen to be close to 1 the other day and hadn't eaten yet so I thought I'd stop in for something different for a change. Well I have to tell you afterwards I was very sorry I did because it was terrible!!! I ordered a toasted deviled egg sandwich and it tasted VERY bland and nothing like it used to and was flimsy as could be. It's all I could do to eat some of it because I did pay for it and because I was pretty hungry. But HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!
