I love Joy of Tokyo's however this particular location has put a bad taste in my mouth.I ordered a hibachi chicken and shrimp plate and ask for no veggies or rice with double meat and shrimp.I was told that cant be done...So I said fine just give me a Hibachi chicken and shrimp plate. The lady said since you don't want rice I can do chicken on the side.Cool ring it up. Total around $17 with a water and spring roll.Food comes out and I had 2 small round bowls with maybe 5 shrimp in one and 15 pieces of chicken in the otherWhen I ask where my plate was I was told oh I took the plate off...No clue why and she went into the typical response "sorry I no understand"Never offered to fix it nor try to explain it to meI mean if someone orders double the meat why would you give them less meat than they would have gotten on a regular plate?

People where fine and friendly, but the food made me and my family sick. Please don't go here if you expect to leave with no stomach issues.

This appears to be a franchise. The one I visited is next to my house. I visited without any referral. I looked at the menu and picked something that sounded familiar. I tried the bowl and the combo. The prices were a little higher than I expected. I thought the quality was adequate, but not worth what I paid. I don't plan on going back, even though it's the closest to my house.

Sad to see what this place has sank too since the pandemic it's not even worth the money you pay try Atami,Osaka or Fuji if you enjoy this style of food the sushi roll had half a cucumber shoved in it and threw the whole flavor off, the portions are ridiculously small compared to other Joy of Tokyo Locations the cheapest ingredient of all..... rice, they skimp on. I feel the quality to service you receive can be met much better else where the highchair's were sticky and the bathroom's were dirty the food tasted like other location's but half the amount I would have driven 10 minutes more to not be hungry after I just spent $80 and the only compensation I was offered was to remake 1 of the 5 plates I bought the review used to be 4.3 when I found Joy of tokyo I now understand why it has a 3.7 star............. learn from our mistake and drive a little further! Side note veggies are now pre-made and not on the grill and are put in first to make it look like you get more meat this was the best looking plate if you could imagine ........

EDIT!! New portions are half of what they used to be. It's very sad because the quality was okay but Cherrydale location gives double the food with better quality now. Manager even admitted other location will give more food because it's a franchise and each one is a different set of families that run it! I had 9 pieces of chicken on my plate, 2 pieces of broccoli and 2 tiny mounds of rice that barely covered the bottom of the togo box more onions than anything else.Old review:Always great food!!!! Big portions and high quality for under 10$ eat here pretty regularly and I've never been disappointed one in cherrydale is just about as good

Hours are always wrong they never update online so you never know if they're opened or not. Their food is good unlike the east north street one just never open

My absolute favorite place to get lunch. The customer service is amazing and the man working is well mannered and even memorized my name & order. The quality of their food at this location is the best in my opinion.

I’ve been to most of the locations in Greenville. This is by far the best! The food was fresh and delicious. I could tell the person making our plates (to go) cared about their jobs. The presentation was fantastic! This will be my go-to from now on, even though I live on the other side of town.
