We came to Greenville for a group 60th birthday celebration. Sassafras was our dinner choice. The food was delicious, the service was attentive and friendly, and we got a free birthday dessert! We will definitely return here if we are back in Greenville!

Wow what an amazing experience! I came to South Carolina for a work event and I started to google the best places to eat in Greenville, Sassafras came up. As I read the reviews I thought I should call ahead to see how long the wait was without a reservation, the hostess advised 1.5 hours but that the bar was open sitting. I headed over hoping to get a seat at the bar, unfortunately for me the bar was full, but the hostess was able to seat me in the dining room within 5 minutes of being there. As soon as I was seated my waitress approached and asked for my drink order. She was on top of my ice tea refills throughout the meal. She gave a great recommendation of the blacked salmon, it was on top grits with asparagus. The food was flavorful, I have never had grits outside of breakfast and it was a nice side. The key lime pie had a good tang and was very tasty. Overall the meal and service was a 5. At the end the night a couple I didn't have a chance to thank or even see because they were sitting behind paid for my dinner. I have never had that happen and it was an awesome surprise. Overall amazing experience and I look forward to coming back.

Food was fantastic. Service was above great! There was an accident when the waitress set down our drink, and within 3 minutes several people came over, cleaned it up, changed the linens and replaced the drink. Then the manager came over to see if we were ok. Highly recommended it. Prices were really reasonable too.

Great experience- loved our waiter from NJ. Had the seafood platter-grilled which was fresh and flavorful. He recommended the catfish fried but it was just as good grilled. Not a hush puppy fan but they seemed like they should be. Good vibe as is all f downtown Greenville. Very attentive service and good location
I had the scallops for dinner and tuna tartare for an appetizer. Food was outstanding. There was an hour wait for a table but they accomodated us within minutes.Parking: Its downtown. Parallel park if you're lucky to find a spot. Otherwise there are several parking garages (e. North, spring st.)

Visiting the area from Lexington KY and our Greer friends told us Sassafras was an absolute must visit while we were in town. We had the best waitress ever. Sally took great care of us, entertained us, and was very respectful of our University of Kentucky attire! The food and experience were exceptional. Thank you Sally!

I had the grilled chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. All of it was delicious, hot and fresh. The portions are pretty big as we didn't have room for dessert. Our server was friendly and answered all of our questions and even had some recommendations. We will be back.
