My wife and son had dinner with me here Saturday night. We were presently surprised at our good the food was. We had crab cakes, sliders, Cajan pasta, and great drinks. Jackie the owner came out after cooking our meal to greet us. What a wonderful and very interesting lady. We highly recommend eating at the Crate!

Recently tried Crate for the first time. I hate I'd waited so long... GREAT EXPERIENCE! Food was some of the best I've had... I started with an "old fashion" - it was perfect (I opted for the non-smoked version- but may try that "smoked old fashion next time)- My wife and I split the "strawberry and goat cheese" salad... She ordered the Shrimp and grits, I ordered the cajun pasta, both where great! We have this thing we do, where we always try each others dish to determine "who won"- meaning who's dish was better- both were so good there was on clear winner. I HIGHLY reccomend Crate... go there. Enjoy!Dietary restrictions: I don'y eat pork, so I was pleased to find they use turkey sausage in both the cajun pasta, and the shrimp & grits

First experience was great from the food and service. Second time visiting was for a special event and was disappointing. The manager was working the bar and I could tell was annoyed with my questions on the wine (this was before the event started). The event was scheduled to start at 8 but didn’t start until close to 9. The only food options were fries and sliders. We ordered the chicken sliders and fries which came out immediately and were warm. I noticed a hair on one of the sliders. We sent them back and the second plate came out again, immediately. No biggie because I know things happen but what blew my mind is that we were still charged for the sliders. Mind you, it’s the manager working the bar area where we were seated. I had to ask for water/refill which is usually standard when you order a bottle of wine let alone any beverage. A lady helping out was trying to clean up and take our bottle of wine/glasses when we still had half a bottle. Disappointing because it’s a chill vibe and cute atmosphere. I thought it to be a hidden gem but now I see it’s not popular due to bad service and subpar food.

Made a reservation with this restaurant in November for a group of 8 for our annual Christmas gathering. Having confirmation in hand, we were told that "we obviously did not have a reservation". Upon the manager seeing our confirmation he then stated that they had a huge party for today. When he saw our reservation date of November he then said that someone had made a mistake. He still did not apologize until he had said several times we didn't have a reservation. Don't go to this restaurant. If the way cannot handle simple reservations, what else are they doing wrong! This could have been handled much better! Poor service, worse attitude!

Don’t expect to be greeted at the door at Crate Restaurant (more like pub). I guess this is kind of place where you need to choose a table yourself. There was only one waitress working on a Saturday night. And it seemed that she was having kind of a bad day. First, after taking the orders she came back to double check what was ordered. Besides, one of the orders at our table was a mix-up and we had to wait for them to fix it. Also we were waiting almost an hour for our food. And it took about 40 minutes to get a check/pay. In the summary, we had very slow service, average food, hence three star review.

We visited Crate during the Arts and Eats Festival this past Saturday for a glass of wine around 4pm. We requested pino grigio. They had 1 bottle with 1 glass left. We then asked for a Rose' on the wine menu "out", the next Rose', "out" They were "out" of all rose's so we ended up with the last glass of Pino Grigio and 2 glasses of Savingnon Blanc. It was disappointing considering it IS a WINE bar (with no pino grigio or rose) They might want to consider restocking? or change the menu to what they have rather than what they don't have.

New found gem in Greer,SC. We were out that night for a good meal. Ended up with one of the best meals I had in the area. Both meals were awesome Lobster mac and cheese and Cajun pasta. Note! Please add nice rolls or garlic toast to that meal. Don't want to leave the sauces on the plate! ?

Upon entering the door, the ambience was wonderful and the hostess/server that greeted us was among the best I have ever experienced. The happy hour wine and food was not only an incredible deal $ but also a superb quality experience. Large portions for happy hour plates with incredible flavor and freshness. I will definitely return when I'm back in the Greer area!
