Wonderful tour of the herb garden and production area, followed by a tasting of all their liqueurs. The passion and expertise of Renato and Janette made this a very enjoyable and fascinating visit. Don't miss their olive oil, it's wonderful. My only regret is buying just one bottle.

A tour of Vicario is informative and fun. You'll need about 2.5 hours to enjoy the whole experience. The tour starts out with a walk to the garden where you can see the care that is taken in growing the ingredients that make it into their liqueurs. Next up is the greenhouse that houses the plants that require a tropical environment. Then, it's into the manufacturing and packaging warehouse to learn about how the gin and liqueurs are made and bottled. Before the tasting there is a stop in the herb room where the scent of the dried ingredients and herbs is amazing! Lastly, it's into the tasting room to sample a total of 16 products made with ingredients mainly sourced from their farm, right here in the upstate of SC or their vineyard property in Italy. A visit here is a sensory experience. You literally see, touch, smell and taste the unique liqueurs made by the Vicario family. Take the time to visit to experience this for yourself.

Run, don't walk to this experience. We've been in Greenville for 3 years and have been trying to go for the tour & tasting but Covid made it difficult. We went today and the tour was super, Janette is brilliant and a great host - we also met the genius behind the mixology, namely Renato, and he was so interesting and a genius at this craft. The tasting was unreal. The various liqueurs that they craft exceeded my expectations by 100X and you get to taste each one.We bought 8 bottles and plan on adding this to our Greenville tour every time guests are visiting.A hidden gem in The Greenville area! So great!

We had a great time touring the farm and then the generous tasting. The tour started in the garden (farm), then the process was explained to is while returning inside to taste. I bought the 15 bottle sampler because I loved them all. We will be returning for more. If you are looking for a unique experience, this is it.

Vicario is a singular experience that I'm sure isn't replicated anywhere in the world. Their tasting includes a selection of 6 liqueur from the 18 they produce. We were treated to an in depth explanation of the processes used to create the individual and distinct flavors by Renato Vicario and Janette Wesley. Renato literally wrote the book on the production and history of botanical liqueurs, and he and Janette grow and select the herbs from their farms here in Greer and in the Piedmont region of Italy. Each of the bottles is also a work of art. The labels, designed by Janette, are each derivations of sections of the Hieronymus Bosch painting, The Garden of Earthly Delights and art works in themselves. While I was familiar with some of the spirits, our visit proved that there is much more to them than I imagined. We came away with a lesson in history, herbs, liquors, and of course a few bottles.
