The course was very average and the fees they charge are ridiculous! They take average golf courses and charge fees that are getting out of hand. It makes me appreciate my courses in Michigan that make golf affordable for everyone!. Ok one round of golf for me and 2 of my boys almost 500 bucks! Stay away and hit the beach!

I didn't love it. Let me start by saying Palmetto Dunes is beautiful and a first class facility all the way. Everyone was professional and friendly. The courses are not cheap, I paid $150 in February when the course is not really green yet, but the greens themselves were in great shape. The carts have GPS and that is very helpful. But the course was, for me, kind of long and difficult, but somehow uninteresting. It is a par 70 and the course does not let up. There are no easy holes. To be clear, if you are a better golfer, this place could be just what you want. Being a 90's shooter on a visit to HH, I like something a bit more on the easy side.

This course is the third best out of the 3 courses at Palmetto Dunes. The cost is the same as the other two courses which is disappointing. There are other courses to play.

As a New England golfer, I love playing Hilton Head courses due to the water views and challenging holes. The greens were very fast and the ladies tee were challenging but not intimidating. This is a great course to play at for somewhat amateur golfers. Everyone at the club is super friendly and welcoming - and as a tech loving millennial I loved the GPS enabled golf carts

The course is great, well-maintained. More importantly, Tim Ashley is a fantastic teacher. Anyone in need of a lesson should book with him. He is polite and professional; by far the greatest instructor I've had.

Thus course (and RJT) both take tee times and sales volume for granted, so badly delayed investment in the course leaves poor car paths and poor maintenance of tee boxes. greens were good. And, no on course management of slow play or inappropriate attire and loud music playing. Lack of a practice facility is another negative.

Loved this track, great course, not very busy.

I just got off the course a couple hours ago. Tee to green, this course was in great shape. It was a great pick and worth the money. The greens and fairways were like carpets, the rough was thick but not terribly penalizing, and the sand was beautiful. All of that said, the course is not easy. The greens rolled true but gripped the ball some, and some of the holes had a lot of sand. My partner commented that the back nine felt like "Florida golf." It has a lot of water and natural penalties. Among the best kept courses I've played. I recommend visiting this course if you're staying on Hilton Head, especially if you're in Palmetto Dunes-- it's right in the neighborhood.

I enjoyed this course more than RJT. Fewer tricked up holes, greens were in batter shape, and a great selection of par 3s. Relaxed atmosphere. And maybe because it's December, but as a 3some only took us 3:50 to finish.

Fore! Wow, Hilton Head Island has some great golf courses! Each one seems to outdo the next with scenic settings, manicured fairways and perfect greens. The South Carolina environment sets the perfect template with a long growing season, towering oaks and sea pines and the ever captivating S wepanish moss that instantly let's you know it's a course in the deep coastal south. We hit some golf balls here the day before and just played 9 one afternoon on vacation. From the clubhouse to the tee blocks, expect a great experience. Lots of wildlife on Hilton Head Island and this course is no exception. On one hole an eagle was nesting in a dead tree, watching us play. The course stays nice by not overloading the play, so we could play at a relaxed ace. The carts have full GPS and keeps your score card electronically. When we stayed here years ago with several other families, the boys and dads all played a few holes here one night. I still remember that. This outing started out very hot, typical in South Carolina in late summer, but a storm brewed up in Savannah and the temperature dropped 15 degrees to mak ed it a perfect afternoon. For 3 people, 9 holes with club rental was about $210. I would highly recommend golf at any of the courses in Palmetto Dunes or any other course on the island for that matter. Golf, tennis, biking, beach = Hilton Head Island!

This is another excellent course amongst the collection at Palmetto Dunes. The layout is very friendly for the medium to high handicap golfer (wide fairways and greens, not too much water about) but also poses enough challenges to the low handicapper to keep them interested. In that respect, it differs from the Hills course which I found to be easily the most challenging of the three we played this week. I have a small preference for the RTJ course as it seemed a little more aesthetically pleasing but the Fazio layout stands up well overall. The big downer for me is the lack of a range to warm up on. I find it very difficult to play well without hitting at least a few range balls and unfortunately there aren't any good options at the Fazio course - there is a small area where you are allowed to hit soft balls with a wedge and maybe there is the option to pop over to the RTJ range which isn't too far away? I don't know about that one. The staff were reasonably friendly but weren't as welcoming as the RTJ course a couple of days earlier.
