My husband and I stopped in for dinner here and enjoyed our food and drinks. We even got to meet Mama Joy! She's truly a gem! I must add, she's very humble and greets you with a warm smile. My husband had the oxtails with collards & i had the 2 pork chops with okra & tomatoes and red rice. The food was delicious and seasoned just right. If you're ever in the area make sure you patronize this establishment. You want be disappointed.

The Service here was Amazing me and my fiance came down here on vacation and was referred here by locals and the food was excellent and Mike the bartender was excellent and professional the whole time even with also maintaining bar as well ... we order the oxtails platters excellent the drinks were good and strong will definitely be coming back ...

My family & I ate here today for an early dinner. Three of us ordered the Salisbury steak, gravy with veggie’s and one of my daughters ordered the fried chicken. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the service was amazing & highly recommend giving Mama Joys a try. Especially if you love home style cooked food.
The food was very good. The atmosphere does have a bar made into the restaurant, not a whole lot of tables,but very good and worth it!

I'm really confused. I ended up in a bar with mama joy's menu in front of me. The fried pork steak was fried amin the same oil as seafood and tasted like seafood. I l think you need to go for lunch to get the best experience. The service was good.
Coworker and I ordered the pasta . Toast was soft but tasted burnt . Noodles had little to no sauce on it really greasy. Not sure what this was supposed to be but it was awful . Called to try to get a refund “nothing we can do about it call mama joy in the morning “ . I don’t write reviews but this was very bad I’d be ashamed to even wanna serve this to ANYONE.

Hidden gem!! Was visiting from Virginia and googled great places to eat, specifically southern cooking. You will not be disappointed. Food was delicious!! Friendly staff and atmosphere. Owner was very personal and friendly. Did I say food was delicious?!? GO!!! Don’t think about it…. GOOOOI!!!

Found this place by chance was not disappointed. Our hostess was very nice and we had a great meal. We also met Mama Joy herself and that sealed it for us. We will be back a few times before we leave. Ox tails were absolutely delicious.
