My family and I traveled to Hilton Head Island to vacation with friends. I made reservations for the Crazy Crab since it was listed as one of the recommended local kid-friendly restaurants by This Week on Hilton Head.Crazy Crab provides ample parking, stunning views with a fun playground for kids, and a vibrant ambiance. The menu consists of a diverse selection of local seafood and turf dishes. My fish tacos were delicious — perfectly battered with lots of flavor. I thought our server, Anya, provided good service throughout the meal for our large group. She was patient, friendly and organized.However, there were some notable drawbacks and disappointments. One of the chairs had ketchup smeared on it when we first arrived, which unfortunately got onto my friend's hands. Additionally, our other friend had shrimp with his broil which were not properly cleaned — thankfully, this was rectified by our server.To top it off, the demeanor of the hostess (possibly a manager) was less than pleasant; she came across as rude and condescending when we addressed our concerns on the placement of the baby sling for our baby’s car seat and our confusion regarding our reservation. A kind and respectful exchange and simple correction would have been more ideal and professional in our opinion, especially since various restaurants have different approaches to baby car seat placement and reservation numbers regarding infants.Despite these setbacks, the overall experience was still enjoyable, thanks to the picturesque setting and Anya's attentive service. However, due to our mixed experience, we are unlikely to return.

Robot host(ess) asked us if we wanted outside or in. We saw this great outdoor patio with great views and ceiling fans. She immediately takes us to an uncovered section, a table under direct sunlight. We said no what about the good seats. Those are reserved she said. Okay so we got a table with 1/2 an umbrella. My wife was covered, my back was baked in the sun. Placed our order. They sat an elderly gentleman behind us at a table with no shade. He asked about the supposed reserved tables and was told no. Hungry and there he took his seat as told. I’m a big man. Our “waitress also a large one”. Had a ver loud obnoxious voice. She stood right behind me for over five minutes telling some stupid story about the owners of crab hut buying into all these other restaurants and giving him some fake $5 off at other locations. Screaming this into my only good ear. Our food arrived and the one umbrella shaded table opened up. Loud waitress graciously let us move to that table and the old man. Moved to ours. Food was less than average. I order the broiled seafood platter, I’m from New Mexico, I’m not sure if the scallops were cooked well. I guess I’ll find out soon enough. Other seafood overcooked. At $20 they think the $10 hour cook is that good. My wife’s fried flounder sandwich was just soggy. My guess is the locals are too drunk to know they are being ripped off or just too stupid. I do NOT recommend this tourist trap!

Reservations for 5:30 via online. Requested patio seating via online. Called to confirm we'd be seated outside on the patio. Were told yes, patio seating confirmed. Showed up and were sat inside dinung with the explanation that patio seating is reserved weeks in advance. Turns out we sat in view of a patio table that stayed empty the whole time we were there. At least one other patio table was empty as well. Poor hostess interaction left me with the impression that she called me disingenuous for even suggesting that our patio seating was confirmed via phone call. Great waitress Sveltlana took excellent care of us

Nothing more to say I love this place food is always good service is always great people are so nice I can go back Time After Time and never have a bad meal even if it's pouring rain out I can sit outside in the covered porch and enjoy the whole evening like I said there's nothing more than I can say this place is fantastic
Gnats are such a hassle if you sit outside. Food was okay. The waiter who brought out our food was a very strange person—laughing uncontrollably, apologizing for laughing. Did he put something in our food? Great scenery on the patio. Wont be back, but glad we tried it.

First and probably last visit to this location. Prices were on par for the area however the service was not. We had to search for our server at 2 seperate times for drink refills and to finally get our bill. The food was low on flavor and Luke warm at best. 2 out of 10 would NOT recommend
