I loved the original cafe strudel but this location has lost some of the original basic charm. I ordered avocado toast which was a stretch. Seemed like just pre mashed bland avocado. My kids enjoyed their meals and the server was very patient with us. They have expanded their menu and that might not have been a great move. And yes, I know I should have just ordered the hangover hash browns.Kid-friendliness: Very nice to my kids. And they get fun plastic cups with bendy straws. They kept adding all sorts of weird items and the staff's patience was greatly appreciated.

Parking Lot HELL - do not enter directly from Highway 6, use side entry.

Driveway in not marked, we parked in service drive near food truck, no sidewalk, broken up blacktop in places, dirt path to steps. Entered into back door not aware of front entry. This was 1st visit. Food was delicious, well presented, good service. Would like to come back, still not sure of proper driveway.

My husband and I tried Cafe Strudel for the first time yesterday. He really enjoyed his breakfast sandwich and I tried the lowcountry fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese on hash browns. I will certainly order that again. Really good fried green tomatoes and the hash browns were cooked just as Iike them.

Rude waitress and worst food than the Columbia location. Drinks came out when we were halfway done with our meal and when I complained about this I was confronted by the waitress that asked me in a rude tone " what do you want me to remove it from your bill or something"? Food was greasy and bland.

Atmosphere was very nice and homey. Got the buffalo chicken wrap and the French onion soup. Both were phenomenal. Would highly recommend for a quick bite for lunch.

This was my second time here with quite some time in between. The first time, I didn't recall them having anything gluten-free, but now they offer bread. And best of all the bread is also dairy free! I can not have either gluten or dairy, so it's not very easy to eat out. I ordered an egg, bacon (which was great! Not paper thin like most restaurants) and gluten-free toast. They also had Jamaican me crazy coffee! The waitress was great in finding out if the bread was safe for me to eat. Overall, it was a great experience!

My partner and I got the pomegranate mimosa ($6+), the bacon bloody mary ($6+), the breakfast burger ($17.50), steak n' eggs (~$25), and a side of sourdough toast ($?). The pomegranate mimosa was sickeningly sweet yet tart at the same time. I can't say I was a fan of it. My partner's bacon mimosa was supposed to have two olives and a bacon wrapped cucumber as the garnish, which he did not receive and was very disappointed about. We were pleased to see that our food came out really quickly. The breakfast burger was about as I expected; it would have been much better with lettuce, tomato, and onion on it. It was just too greasy, so some veggies would have helped cut that grease. The hash that came with the burger was simultaneously crunchy and soggy. It was fine, but did not help with the greasy feeling of the meal. The burger itself was fine, but again, just was too much. My partner was pretty disappointed with the NY strip and eggs. He got his eggs sunny-side-up and his steak medium rare. The eggs were fine, but the steak was small, overcooked, and unseasoned. He didn't finish his hash either since he didn't like the texture or greasiness (same as mine). He said that the biscuit was average. Another problem we had was that the 'sourdough' bread was most likely not sourdough. It didn't even taste remotely close to it. It looked (and tasted) like thick-cut white bread. It was fine, but not what we ordered. My partner said that he would not want to come back--he was not impressed. I like Café Strudel, but I prefer the Columbia location and would not get that breakfast burger again. ---------------------- Over all: My ratings: **Pomegranate mimosa: 5/10 **Breakfast burger: 6.5/10 **Hashbrowns: 4/10 **'Sourdough' toast: 7/10 Partner's ratings: **Bacon bloody mary: 6/10 **NY strip & eggs: 5/10 **Biscuit (with butter): 6/10 **Hashbrowns: 6.5/10 **'Sourdough' toast: 5.5/10 Total rating: 5.7/10 (or 2.9/5 rounded to 3/5) Total paid: ~$65+ (minus gratuity)
