My brother and I stopped in to Rica Mex this afternoon for a bite of Mexican food. I saw some of the food reviews and felt is was worth the travel distance to try it ourselves. The location was surprising as it was at one end of a gas station in Irmo and what was exceptional was the restaurant itself. The place was extremely clean and tidy, the bathrooms were also clean and had a nice fresh smell to them. We ordered three tacos each and dressed them out. Let me tell you they were the most delicious tacos north of Mexico. The meat was tender and flavorful with all the dressings freshly made. The salsa was on point and our mouths were dancing with each bite. You should try the dessert as well. So savory and moist. The staff was very friendly and helpful as this was our first visit and our meals were brought to us promptly and with a smile. We will definitely come back as this is the best Mexican food in town...and we have tried many of the others. Wherever you may be located, the drive to Rica Mex is so worth it! I wouldn't steer you wrong!

My fiance and I stopped in for lunch, for the first time, this afternoon and to say that the food exceeded expectations is understatement! He ordered the birria tacos, while I had shrimp and a shared queso. Which my 2 year old devoured. The shrimp tacos were absolutely phenomenal. Very fresh and full of flavor and the mango is a lovely touch. Fiancé says the birria were BETTER than those he tried in Texas. We will definitely be back! Staff is pleasant and the store is clean! A must try if you're in need of a quick taco or two!!
