I love this store because they have a large variety of products and the avocados are always ripe. I used to love buying the fresh tortillas that are in the white insulated chest near the register. But several months ago, the tortillas started tasting funny to me. Sort of like soap. No one else in my family seemed to notice, so I thought it was just my tastebuds off for some reason. But recently, my son and his wife went to get tortillas and they tasted terrible. An undeniable soapy or chemical flavor. And today my husband came home with pandulce that is also inedible. Same soapy taste. I give the store 3 stars because I still get all my dried chiles there and the people working there are always very nice and store is always super clean, but unfortunately I will no longer buy tortillas or any prepared food there for fear of that soapy taste.

I have been coming to this tienda for over a year now. The meats are typically good but expensive. I kept coming back despite the prices bc I liked supporting a family owned Hispanic store. Especially since there aren’t many on this side of Lexington. After today, I will not be going back. I went in to purchase their chorizo and a few other things. My family and I love breakfast tacos and their chorizo is typically always good. Today, the chorizo had a sour/chemical taste. I called the store to let them know and also to see if I could get a different batch of chorizo. I even took the cooked chorizo for them to taste. They took it to the back and I could see the face reaction one of the workers once she tried it. The lady then came from the back, apologized and gave me some more chorizo. Once I got home and cooked it, it turned out to taste the same. So I called them once again to see if at this point I could just get my money back. The lady who answered said that they couldn’t give me my money but could give me store credit. I told her that was fine but I mentioned that they shouldn’t be selling the chorizo because the taste was awful. Even cooking it smelled bad. She then proceeded to tell me that my taste must be off and that it was my opinion that the chorizo had gone bad. At this point, I had already wasted my time and gas on going back and forth to this store plus I was really upset. I didn’t even go back for my “store credit”. It’s a shame how she spoke to a loyal paying customer. Because her and how they went about the situation I will never shop here again. I will gladly find another place that values their customers.

Great things in this store. Publix recommended this store to me when Publix was out of corn husks. Found everything I needed plus more. Friendly staff

We went to try this place out and would definitely NOT RECOMMEND. I asked for tacos de carne asada and they gave me tacos de carne hervida. Also the torta didn’t have tomatoes nor onions and the bread wasn’t even grilled, also the beans where super cold. Will say that is was clean and there was one lady that was nice and the other was very rude. I won’t stop here again.

Great store! We buy many recipe ingredients there plus fresh, homemade tortillas. The buffet is delicious, too.

Nice little Latina store. They have a little bit of everything. The tortillas weren't the best

I love visiting the Super Mercado La Unión and picking up some delicious foods and snacks. They have so many options from a deli, bakery, grab and go, to a great lunch buffett. I really enjoy the atmosphere and love just stopping in to look around. The customer service is top notch and you will always encounter friendly faces ready to help you out with anything you may need. I hope this is a place that is around for a long time. Visit it today, enjoy!
