My first time visiting this restaurant. I was taken aback when I first walked in because the decor of the restaurant looked like a vintage thrift store. However, I decided to give it a shot. There were some great menu choices. I ordered the fried green tomatoes with shrimp and my boyfriend ordered baby back ribs. Oh, and the sweet tea was good too. Everything was good including the server. She was very personable. I will comeback. I am just curious as to who the cooks are, they cook like my family members cooked their soul food.

Food and Service 5-Star Plus Ambiance is fine Appetizer of baby onion rings, fried pickles, and fried mushrooms is delicious and a huge meal in itself. I had to have a scoop of their amazing homemade chicken salad. It is made with green onions and so good. I mean can't-wait-to-get-more good! Next time I am getting a quart to take home. My husband had a great salad and catfish stew over rice. He loved every bite of it. I ordered the seafood platter including flounder, shrimp, and oysters. I really didn't want flounder, and they were gracious enough to replace it with more shrimp. The shrimp and oysters were gently breaded and tasty. As good as seafood gets. Sweet potato waffle fries were the bomb! We saw the baker with fresh homemade cakes that I wanted really bad. I never miss dessert, but I just couldn't do it. We have a refrigerator full of take-home boxes because we couldn't begin to eat everything we ordered. Next time I am going to spend the night in Manning so we can do it again at least twice. Really, it is a great place to eat, and our waitress was a sweetheart. And did I mention the adorable Easter pillows in their gift shop? Had to get one. But I am calling back to see if they will ship me a couple more. The big square one with the bunny must hop over to me. PORTER JACK'S GRILL is MANDATORY in MANNING!

My wife and I visited Porter Jacks for our Valentine’s Day dinner and was extremely disappointed. The atmosphere had that good ole “sweet” southern hospitality but with a dash of prejudice.After being seated in an odd section of the restaurant, we were offered drinks, in which we both opted for the strawberry lemonade. The lemonade tasted like they just mixed frozen strawberries with water and forgot the lemon….so we got water with lemon instead.We were then ready to order our food and decided on steak. To our surprise, the menu on their website is 5 years old, as per Chloe(waitress), and the steaks are now at “market price”…which is ridiculously expensive. After seeing the quality of food that others were getting, we decided to just get some Mexican food. That was the best decision we could’ve made.We’re not from here, so maybe this is what Manning calls “fine dining”, but where we’re from, this is subpar.

What a great find! Service is so attentive and the food made fresh and outstanding. Warm and inviting atmosphere as well! Porter Jacks is well worth the drive from Sumter, we'll be back.

Although I'm not from manning, but I went to see my lawyer and in the mist of everything I asked where was a good eating spot around and the area ,well he suggested that I go here and I must say everything and I mean everything was amazing and delicious. Food is pricey but to me it was well worth it and I look forward too going back there
