Friday night 7pm.Restaurant half empty inside and completely empty on patio. We were told 45 minutes for a table. My wife decided to ask if we could sit outside after I pointed out they don’t even take reservations. The hostess said ” we are “not allowed” to seat anyone at any of the table as we are short staffed and we have no one to serve you. We almost ordered Uber Eats to be picked up so we could sit at one of the 8-9 empty tables.Too bad.

[Takeout review]Overall: Willing to go back and try more items, but the prices will give me pause. The good: Great flavors all around. Both the chicken tikka and paneer tikka masalas were delicious, creamy, and wonderfully spiced. The rice was buttery and soft, and the naans were fluffy yet chewy. Food was hot and ready upon pickup, and the staff was friendly as well. The not-so-good: Expensive for what you get, since the portion sizes seemed on the smaller side compared to takeout for similar spots. I wasn't a huge fan of the flavored naan, as they were too strong and came in "globs" of spices on top. The naan itself was great, just not that added flavor.

Perfect lunch on a beautiful day. My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised with Malika. It wasn't busy when we had lunch, but I'm not sure if it is usually this quiet in Mt.P during the week. I ordered the chicken tikki roll with fries, and I loved everything about it. The chicken was seasoned nicely and had great char while still maintaining a tender and moist filling for the soft naan bread "roll". The fries were really delicious; crispy and topped with a beautiful garnish of cilantro, onion, spices, and served with spicy ketchup. I would come back just for this detectible combo. My hubby ordered a classic- the chicken biryani. It was very good and a safe dish if you are trying out Pakistani and Indian food for the first time, but I will warn you... it's spicy. I could see him sweating once he was halfway in. It wasn't too spicy for me, but just be prepared if you don't eat anything spicy like my hubby. Now go enjoy some of those fries!

Pretty good food but not authentic though. Biryani and Lahori choley were good. Palak paneer could do a lot more better and authentic.

Malika is a beacon of food hope in Mount Pleasant. Most of the area is riddled with wannabe riffs on different cuisines, but Malika is the real deal. Don’t skip on the masala or the lamb wrap. The masala fries and the house made ketchup are a fave of our household. Thanks for being there Malika! Best food and best take out in the area. Cheers.

Interesting food. I saw this place on IG and we thought we would check it out. I have a love for Indian food but never had it with a Pakastani mix. It was pretty flavorful. The restaurant is super cute and the service was good. It was worth the try. We will eat here again. We had the lamb kabob, the beef kabob pizza and the chicken appetizer. Try this place!

This is one of my new favorite spots in Charleston! For starters, we were warmly greeted by the hostess/server who gave thorough and honest recommendations when asked about the menu. She was friendly and attentive throughout our entire visit.Everything we tried was delicious, but our favorite was the Chaat Papri, which was recommended by our server -- we may not have ordered it otherwise and I am so glad we did! We also loved the Chicken Tikka Masala. Portions are plentiful and plates are shareable so I highly recommend getting a few things and splitting them amongst your group.I love the ambiance of this place -- cozy, fun and colorful! Plus it's the perfect place to pop into before or after some shopping at Towne Center. I'll definitely be back soon!

Thought it was fast food at a sit down price. The lamb burger is still rolling around in my gut. My wife liked her chicken.

Incredible!! Charleston is seriously lacking in diversity in the food scene, especially when it comes to Asian flavors. Genuinely so good, flavorful and unique in this area. 11/10
