This place has a parking lot that seems to be meant to scam you out of $15. The lot is posted as pay to park for the 2 restaurants there. The restaurants also claim that they will validate parking and you don't have to pay. In other words, these 2 restaurants have a parking lot that you have to pay $25 to park in, but they say they will validate your parking after you dine with them. Well, we dined and received validation. The website they used said the parking was validated. Come 2 days later and a $15 charge is on my credit card for parking. The charge is being disputed, and we're never returning to this place again. They probably should put a note on your bill that you're actually paying $15 more than you expect you'll be paying.

I did the hook and cook and brought a nice piece of golden tilefish and it was amazing.

Shem Creek Bar and Grill is closed. Current business name is Shem Creek Crab House, which does NOT deserve the reviews of the former establishment, at same address.Reservations? No oyster buckets. Crab legs come in "steam pots", no just Crab legs on menu. The up scaled menu lost the original charm. $$$

Food was good, service was good - vibe was a little weird this time. We sat next to the Bar area and the bartender was loud and really talking a lot......if we were a little ways away, probably would not have been a thing, but she kept going nearly the whole time we were there. Otherwise pretty cool place - a little pricey - but that is expected for all the places right on Shem Creek.

The food was only OK. Nothing special, especially considering their prices. We ate on the open deck with a nice view. Linda, our server was especially attentive. We would give her service 5 stars.

This place has good lighting, even better food and amazing service. I'm from Texas and rarely get the chance for super fresh seafood. I'll recommend this resultant to people I know!

In town for vacation. One person highly recommended and one did not. It looked like our kind of place, wanted good seafood and liked menu. So happy we went. I had the grilled scallops with red rice and collard greens. All delicious. All staff was very friendly and server very attentive. Only here for 6 days and want to go back again. Loved it! Highly recommend.

Came in at 5:30 on Veterans Day. As we arrived we noticed that the name of the place has changed to Shem Creek Seafood and Oyster Bar. From the outset, it was clear that the place has changed, and definitely not for the better. The place is exclusively seafood, so for those that enjoyed the prime rib, this is now gone. All in place of it is a bunch of seafood, and some of it was obviously frozen beforehand. I had a small snow crab leg and 6 shrimp for 28 bucks. It came with a dollop of surprisingly good mashed potatoes and CANNED, yes canned green beans. When you get canned vegetables at a restaurant you know all you need to know. My wife had a mediocre NY strip (the only steak on the menu) for about 30 bucks. I really liked the place before, but I will not be back for a return visit, until they get rid of that lousy menu. I compare the place to the Charleston Crab House over on West Ashley; mediocrity at its best. Two stars from me because the service was very good. Food, not so much.

We visited in July 2020 and enjoyed our meal and the incredible view. We visited in November 2020 and still enjoyed the view and attentive staff but were surprised by the menu changes - both the food offerings and the prices. Each item we ordered had increased 15% in price from July.

I'm allergic to shellfish, but love fish. Most seafood restaurants will saute it for me to avoid cross contamination. I was told that they didn't have a pan that they could use to saute snapper for me. I was encouraged to choose meat. I ordered smoked ribs which were dry and tough. I only gave 2 stars because outy waitress was wonderful.

If you are concerned about Covid19 DON'T GO to SHEM CREEK BAR & GRILL! Poor management! The employee's were wearing mask pulled completely down. Including the cooks! No social distancing. We were by door leading to dock bar. All 4 tables were seated, including one above us. Most customers not wearing any mask as they moved through the restaurant/BAR. Now let me say our meal was the worst we had all week. Over fried seafood in old oil. None of the 4 of us finished anything on our plates. Shem Creek has changed. Use to be decent enough. But not currently! We are regulars for dining in Mount Pleasant. Too many other choices to waste our money here. And the only place we went we felt generally concerned for exposure to Covid-19.

Walked in hostess was friendly as a mad rattlesnake, kinda like her boyfriend just broke up with her. Tammy was great however. Food not that good. Got the ultimate platter boiled. Everything overcooked and over seasoned. Tammy was good, oysters on the half shell good and crab legs. Other than that, nope

I took my daughter there for quick lunch. She had a cheese burger and I had a salad with grilled shrimp. Food wasn't too bad but The waitress overcharged us for the salad and she took $10 out from my change. So, waitress named Bonnie didn't get a tip from us that day.

Slowest service ever and the rudest hostess and waitress. Waited over 2 hours only to have our plates literally thrown on the table at us. Dick’s Last Resort treats you better! Mediocre food and horrible service. Do not waste your time or money here
