I would say the taste of the food is like "American - Indian" the spices are mild. I lived in Asia before and used to work with a lot Indian clients, so I know which one is a good Indian food. Nonetheless I like their service and the restaurant interior.

My family is Indian so maybe we have high standards, but I thought the food was OK. We went for dosas, and although the flavor and sambar were good, the dosas themselves were a little soft. What really stood out was the ambiance, it was lively and I liked the decor. But the whole experience was tainted because the service was awful. We stood there for 4-5 minutes before someone even came to the host stand, and then when we were seated, our waiter didn’t come by for a while more. Our food came out reasonably fast, but we were halfway done eating before our drinks even came. I could forgive the mids food if the service wasn’t so bad, but I probably wouldn’t make this a regular spot.

I’m not a big fan of Indian food, but visiting Spice Palette changed that! Went with a small group and we all shared. We started with the Bagari Shrimp with Poori. Amazing starter dish. Then we split the Malabar Chicken and Lamb Kadhai. Everyone loved both dishes. Both had a pretty good kick to it, especially the chicken. I’m not a big fan of spicy food, but after the first few bites, my taste buds seemed to adjust and made it all the more better.Lastly, the garlic naan was to die for. I would go back just for that alone!

Absolutely loved the food and the service! Definitely will need 15 more trips to try everything! If you love old fashions try, a gulab jamun old fashioned!!!!
The food was wonderful: Lamb Saag with rice, onion naan, Mulligatawny soup, and salad. And, there was so much that my take home was enough for two more meals! The atmosphere is okay, but the service and the food were terrific.

They catered my cousins wedding, and over the course of several days and several themes/regionally inspired meals, we were incredibly delighted! Highly recommend!
Magnificent. Possibly the best Indian food in the low country. I wish I lived closer.

We just had dinner at this place. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and amazing service. A lot of the dishes are inspired from Kerala cuisine( our home state in India). The restaurant is super clean and staff are courteous and kind. We will definitely be back here when we visit Charleston. Highly recommend for authentic Indian food and hospitality! It’s a five star restaurant for all good reasons!!!

Visited this restaurant on a trip to Charleston October 2023. Overall was a fantastic experience. I am south Indian and we eat tons of Indian food. Dosa was excellent and perfect for kids. All vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes we ordered were delicious. They kept refilling our water which is much appreciated. Service was excellent. Highly recommend if you’re in Charleston.Vegetarian options: So many choices for vegetarian dishes.Kid-friendliness: Great options for kids, Including dosa

This was my first time trying Indian and we went back multiple times over the next month. Food is delicious and staff has great recommendations if you aren’t sure what to get. The chicken korma never disappoints!
