The food was excellent and perfect spice. The outside entrance is deceivingly run down but the interior was nice. The biggest drawback was CASH only or cheques??

Reservation at 7:30 on Valentines Day. Place was mobbed but we were actually seated on time. Water poured and an elderly man who was bus boy and drink server took our order go wine. He came back three times scribbling our order on a small piece of paper. After 50 minutes I stood outside employee door until chef and owner came out. Wine then arrived. Owner took our order and we split a six piece egg roll with a wonderful sauce. Grateful when that arrived as we were starving as we were now there an hour and a half. My wife ordered the salmon which was supposed to be to have a red curry sauce. It was covered and tasted like a peanut sauce with no heat. I order the Gai pad mat ma-muang. Instead I got pad Thai. Both meals were adequate but not what we ordered. No waiters just the owner/chef and the elderly water boy. They were both at least 75 if I had to guess. Too much for them to do. One couple after a couple beers and egg rolls checked out as they couldn't stand the wait. The food is actually pretty good even if they don't get the orders right. They only accept cash or check. The key issue is service and wait time and two and a half hours was way too long. Most of the prices are in the $20 - $30 range. Wine by glass average $10 to $20.

We had looked forward to dining at this wonderful restaurant. Booked a reservation online through Google assistant and it was confirmed. Showed up tonight and was informed by the owner they do not receive notification when reservations are made online. They only accept cash or check at the restaurant which we were fine with but you sir will never see us again as you never once said you were sorry for our inconvenience. There were alot of tables open and I guess business must be good. Alas, we went to another establishment on a very rainy evening who welcomed us with open arms.

Wonderfully prepared Thai dishes in a nicely decorated relaxed setting. Perfect for a long leisurely meal with good friends. Wonderful food, service and ambiance!!

Food was delicious. Only bummer is it's cash only and the pricing. The fact that it's cash only is not well advertised and the prices shown online are clearly outdated. I got one entree - drunken noodles with shrimp. Great flavor, great spice, large tender shrimp. But the one dish was $30!! Very cute spot though. Lovely older man running the place.

Went there on Weds at 6pm, front door locked, no note on the door saying why they are closed. Looks like this place is tango uniform (out of business).

The decor and everything else was absolutely beautiful! The food was amazing! Truly authentic Thai food! By reservation only. Very expensive but worth every penny!!!! Made to order by the chef and owner, Doc. He is a very sweet man and an amazing chef! A definite must visit if in Murrell's inlet! I had the Crispy Duck Pad Tai(I think). I got it Medium, very spicy! Got even more spicy after sitting in the fridge for a few days. More food than we could eat in one sitting!!! Warning Authentic spice level will beat even the most stout person! If you ask they will let you try the spice before you order so you can judge how spicy you want it. Ten times hotter than any 'authentic' Thai restaurant I have ever been to! But it's a sneaky heat so you get to taste all the flavor before the heat kills your taste buds lol. Warning the duck dishes are real duck so keep an eye out for bones! Doc is the only person in the kitchen so be patient!Vegetarian options: They have several vegetarian options. My mom is a vegetarian and her food was as good as mine!

We had an unforgettable dining experience at Blue Elephant Thai Cuisine in Murrells Inlet, SC as always! ✨From the vibrant flavors to the beautiful presentation, this place will exceed all expectations. ? The pineapple fried rice with salty pork floss was a tasty revelation, elevating the dish to a whole new level of deliciousness. When I’m telling you that this dish is 100/10 highly recommend, I’m not exaggerating.?? But that's not all! The green curry was bursting with flavor once I added a little bit of the salty pork floss. It needed salt but it’s not readily available on the table. ??️Some key notes/takeaways:-Reservation only-Cash onlyThe owner is usually the only person running the show here so reservations are a must. No walk ins unfortunately. The food is a work of art and a culinary adventure for the taste buds for sure. ?️ The dishes can be spicy so please note if it says spicy on the menu it’s gonna be hot. ?️ This isn’t the place where you want to go all out and order a spice level higher than two. My husband and I love spice and found out years ago this one tip can ruin your evening. ?With that being said it is a must try if you live or are visiting the Grand Strand. Don’t try to dine here if you are in a rush. Plan a nice date night and enjoy each others company. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving this gem a try. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you! ? #BlueElephantThaiCuisine #MurrellsInletSC #FoodieParadise #FlavorfulDelights #MyrtleBeachFoodieBabe #ThaiFood

Several things you should know before you go here: Cash only. One guy is the owner, chef and waiter. It may be slow and dishes may come out at different times. If you're a persnickety customer, stay away. If you can handle some small glitches, be patient and you'll be rewarded with really good Thai food. Go with folks you like and the wait won't be a deal breaker. The Pad Thai is authentic and full of flavor. Any of the curry dishes (especially duck) will be awesome. Great menu. Plenty of parking

Went in to this establishment and asked the the man behind the counter, if he could accommodate a party of three without reservation; he look confused and saidyou need a reservation to dine in. Therestaurant look rather empty so I saidcould he seat us. He then said yes, butthen announced we don’t accept credit card. The whole time he look unpleasant and had no hospitality or customer service skills. He was rude, off putting and unwelcoming. This left a bad taste in my mouth. …Needless to say I walked out. This not how you greet your customers.

I have a very hard time scoring this place. It feels like a half-hearted attempt at authenticity. The food has good flavor but it just isn’t correct.Imagine ordering a cheeseburger in an American restaurant but getting soy sauce instead ketchup and cabbage instead of lettuce. That’s what Blue Elephant is doing with Thai food. Perhaps it’s just the chef’s creativity but it’s somewhat off-putting.The pad-krapow came with some weird veggies (mushrooms? Broccoli?) while completely lacking the standard requirements (กะเพรา, ie, holy basil). Some things seemed really authentic- the thai tea is spot on, the soups look great (though I didn’t taste them), and the furniture and silverware are all thai imports. Great atmosphere. Lots of Thai decorations, including art by Kositpipat (mad respect!). But then main dishes like fried rice seemed closer to American Chinese food with baby corn and peas than authentic Thai style fried rice. This is an attempt at fusion but in all the wrong places.Moving beyond the food there were some other weird oddities. The place was cash only despite having Amex logos up. Why advertise for Amex if you don’t take them? All the food was rather expensive. Myrtle Beach has several cheaper and more authentic Thai options closer to town so I’m not sure what the appeal is here. Also the owner uses the restaurant as a platform to advertise tours of Thailand but they are really overpriced ($5k-$6k for a $2-$3k itinerary, including alot of factory tours that I personally know pay kickbacks).I think ultimately this restaurant is an attempt at packing and selling Thailand to farang who just want a taste of orientalism without the full package. If you’re new to Thai food and don’t want anything too exotic - this is a good place. If you’ve never been to Thailand, this is a good place. If you’ve ever lived or worked in Thailand or taken an unguided roadtrip or even hung out drinking Chang on an unnamed Soi and know what 555 means - you’ll find this to be a truly bizarre experience. This place is for the Murrels Inlet retirees who want measured controlled exotic doses. This is not for those who would hop on a plane to Isaan with 500 baht in their pocket and no itinerary. If you like the *idea* of Thailand, but you aren’t actually ready to commit to Thailand, this is the place for you.
