I've had excellent oysters here in the past so i brought my visiting sister there for some. i was surprised that they were not good this time.. a little bit brownish and didnt have good flavor. Clearly not fresh! My sister was too polite to complain, so i wound up paying $48 for 2 dozen. I called the next day to tell the manager and he said the general manager would be coming the next day...never heard back from him. Very disappointed!

Order the Chelsea rolls which were delicious until a roach ran across my plate. The waiter said that they had changed exterminators 3x. I wanted to throw up. Unfortunately I will never eat there again. I had eaten there several times before basically everything we come to Myrtle Beach we eat there just a bad experience I can’t forget.

Because of the weather needed to find a place for takeout. Read the great reviews for On The Half Shell so gave it a go. Ordered two baskets, fried clams and the shrimp opted for blackened. Both came with slaw and fries and both were great! Definitely a place locals go to and for good reason. Will definitely be back.

If you make it out to Myrtle Beach, Surfside, or Murrells Inlet, be sure to visit On the Half Shell. This was our first time here and our server. Matt was fabulous. The food was great and the atmosphere as well. Great Happy Hour as too!
Good food and service, but too loud to have conversation. This is more a bar than restaurant.

If you’re in the Myrtle Beach area, On the Half Shell restaurant is a must-visit! The food was absolutely amazing, and our server Matt was probably the best waiter I’ve ever had. Bri at the bar whipped up some of the most delicious drinks I’ve ever tasted. Honestly, we were a bit nervous about the prices as they’re so reasonable, but rest assured, the food exceeded our expectations, and the wait staff was exceptional
